Mutual funds have higher fees than quality index funds like Vanguard's. 9/10 Mutual Fund managers have historically failed to beat the index. Advisors have a conflict of interest so they will try their best to find a MF that looks like it's that 1/10 with excellent performance. I practically guarantee that the "attractive" MF has only 10 years or less from inception meaning it's just a short term lucky fladh in the pan. Just buy index funds. Lower fees better performance than vast majority of MF. No amateur-hour stock picking required. Read Bogle and Buffett for Christ's sake

Bullshit. Take a mutual fund like Vanguard for example. They charge fractions of a percent to have fund managers who are far more likely to know what they're doing than some /biz/raelite manage your investment. The cost of their operating fees for most funds is negligible even when considering compound interest.
