>Investing is risky business!
>Investing your money is for people who already have a lot!
>The stockmarket is rigged
>The stockmarket is random and completely unpredictable, so it's best not to bother
>I play computer games
>I just keep my money in my savings account, that way it collects interest and I can save up!
>Saving for retirement? Haha i don't plan to be alive that long.
>I'm too young/old to start a business
>I do not listen to Maybach music
>All the good business ideas were taken already
>All the smart products or services were already invented before me
>____? Nah that's nonsense! Just get a regular job ya dummy!
>Anon, you need to pay for us when we're older, we raised you afterall
>Cmon bro lend me $100, i need it to buy more Vemma, trust me it will make us earn MILLIONS
>Reinvesting your profits? That's retarded, why earn money if i don't spend it on fun?
>Live within my means? But Shaniqua/Johnny has that new iPhone 9s deluxe platinum edition, I need it too...
>I only work 40 hours a week but i wish to get rich
>I don't actively work on improving myself
>What's the point of books? I'm done all my reading!
>I play videogames lol it's fun!
>>

I have a question: wouldn't it make sense to have a regular job (or a business; working for yourself can be harder even if it isn't as demeaning most of the time) AND make my money work for me, so I have an employment history?
>>
> I do not listen to Maybach music

Kek
>>

>lol I only take maybe $400 to the casino a week, it's not that much
>>
>>1012799
>no video games
God when will this meme die.
>>
>____? Nah that's nonsense! Just get a regular job ya dummy!
What jobs fit this
>inb4 the obvious
work for yourself, etc
>>
>Investing your money is for people who already have a lot!
this is 100% true on a global scale
not only that but you should only begin holding securities once you've eliminated any high interest debt and established an emergency fund

>The stockmarket is rigged
you're a fucking idiot if you think you can outperform the pros in picking stocks

>The stockmarket is random and completely unpredictable, so it's best not to bother
maybe it isn't, but it's best not to give shitheel middlemen your money in any case
>>
Just had a friend set a new record for poorfagging

He took out a 5k payday loan, against his fully financed 2016 40k Toyota truck, to buy him and his gf (they have a kid together too) into Vemma.

He is now truly the final boss
>>
>you're a fucking idiot if you think you can outperform the pros in picking stocks

lol

Investments can't buy happiness. :^)

>you're a fucking idiot if you think you can outperform the pros in picking stocks
Jeez, what are you even doing here? The stock market is not some kind of competence.
>>
>>1013009
>you're a fucking idiot if you think you can outperform the pros in picking stocks
Nah it's easy as fuck. It's called value investing.

lold and chekd

how do you guys balance self-improvement with socializing? i find that if i push myself too hard with that stuff or even work in general, i put myself into such an edgy, aspie state that i can't relax and talk with people properly. and just locking yourself up and neglecting your social skills for decades will lead you to some bad places, so it's not like just not doing it is an option.
>>
>>1013175
A healthy social life and being pleasant to be around is part of self-improvement.

if you worry about employment history, focus on employment and achieving wealth through those channels. i think it's safe to say most people on /biz/ would rather focus on the entrepeneurial route, where your employment history means jack shit because you'll be the one employing, ideally.
>>
>>1012799
>The stockmarket is random
Do you remember the experiment when they compared results of a group of stock market experts and bunch of chimpanzees who bought and sold stocks randomly?
Chimpanzees won just a little bit less money than the experts
>>
>>1013389
So when am I going to see chimps in suits on wall street ?
>>
>>1012799
>>Saving for retirement? Haha i don't plan to be alive that long.

Why the fuck do so many people say this?

Like not even robots on /r9k/ that honestly very well may kill themselves, but full blown normies with jobs and gfs?
>>
>all debt is bad
>>
>>1012799
>tfw totally uncreative
All the best ideas pass me by and I'm a naysayer. I just can't think of anything marketable.
>>
>>1013009
>you're a fucking idiot if you think you can outperform the pros in picking stocks
You're the fucking idiot.
>hedge funds constantly lose money year over year
>60% of regular people on average make money
>>
>>1013587
Because they're retards who only live in the now.

They think "Wow if i buy that cool new ____ I'll have a great few years!" so they spend their excess money in their 20's and 30's then realize that when they're 40+ they're not as mobile and agile as they used to be and have much different interests and opportunities that they squandered.

And really I guess it makes sense from their perspective, it's hard to imagine how life will be when you're 60+, which is 30-40 years from now for them but it's not hard to imagine that when you're 60 you need some money for medical costs and living expenses and if you don't have any you're still going to be alive, it's not like you'll just hang yourself one day.
>>
>Get a utility stock. They pay a 3% dividend
>>
>>1013667
But that's actually a decent idea.
>>
>>1013622

You can learn to be creative, anon. Focus on building the skills you're lacking in whilst fostering the ones you have.
>>
>>1013703
But my only skill is accounting. I'm a very boring person.
