I would make more money

$2,000? You mean on top of a 15k security fund, 10k car fund, and 20% down payment for a house, right?

I'd invest 3/4 in my portfolio and wait next month for my next spare 2k.
>>
Margin account. Regulated bucket shop with a negative balance protection who gives a good initial credit bonus, micro account if available. 2% of my total balance on a single position, for a max of two positions. Trend following system, ideally looking for trade ideas generating anything above 5R. Staying the fuck out of stocks/ETFs/pennies. Withdraw everyhting as soon as 10k goal gets hit, move up to a true ECN broker offering options, lowering total amount risked to 2% in total balance
>>
If I were younger and poorer and had *only* 2k to invest, I'd do the following:

1. Do I need this money to live? If so, use it.
2. Do I have any debt? If so, pay it off.
3. Do I have a good job? If not, invest in getting a job.
4. Open an account at a brokerage and put in the cash. Depending on my tolerance for risk, buy into index funds (low risk) or keep it as cash and start studying the market.

Save more. Make sure you have 6 months living expenses saved just in case. Put it in a money market or something liquid.
>>
>>1010636
Buy low sell high
>>
>>1010636
Buy stuff from me.
Sell it.
Double your money.

Buy twice as much stuff from me
...
...

So on and so forth.

Anon I buy 6k cars, but you should have a 10k car fund.
>>

this anon is right, sadly if you live in the US a good chunk of your income will need to be allocated towards car repairs/replacements

i'd put most of it into stock funds, but also a bit into this:

http://promo.ecorevenue.com/?id=d51e53ffe6bf60

looks very ponzi at first, but seems actually legit after testing it out for about 8 weeks.
i completed the first cycle and cashed out via paypal without problems.

since they are rather new, they give you free 20 bucks to test everything out, just for signing up with email/name. (i just use my initials, worked out for me) so little to no risk.

fuck these replies man. /biz/ has become r/personalfinince no one wants to take risk for some high rewards.

Invest it into a business using an equity based crowd funding site.

I'm UK based and invested £1000 into a brewery and got back my investment with a further £680 return. This was after 6 months when the brewery was bought out by a German brewing company.

Obviously there is risk with this. i would recommend spreading out that 2000 over 10 different investments. gotta diversify.

Don't expect quick returns though, expect exits after 3-5 years. Do your research as well. Due-diligence is key.

Once you get a return don't spunk it up the wall!!! re-invest it and make use of that compound interest.

What is this and how does it work? Is it for buying a car, or running costs/insurance/repairs?
