I was like you anon in 2005. 18 yo and only armed with a GED, I joined the Army, got promoted fast as fuck..."made E7 in 7" and I'm making about 75k a year. Doesn't sound like much, but I pay very little federal taxes and no state taxes and my healthcare is frreeeee, to me anyway. When I last deployed I rolled in 92k tax free and didn't have to pay for food a single time.

I'd get some manual labor with decent pay: construction, electrical, restaurant.

Just wear a decent polo and khakis, and drive up to some places (work sites, etc) say hello to whoever is in charge and tell them you need some work and are a hard worker.

Craigslist is decent too.

And church. church is very good, despite what the athiest haters say here. Especially an affluent well-doing church. Just start attending the services and tell people there you are new and loooking for work in the area.
