There is a new protocol that will emerge soon, 2018 max.
This protocol allows you to trade stocks, options, futures whatever the fuck you want instantly from your computer, without having to make external deposits or withdrawals.
The exchanges will become simple database managers, as they no longer need millions to function and the risks will start to fade for them and the traders.

You will have the option to choose between making normal deposits or this tech. When you buy from your computer, you will LOCK your own funds cryptographically until the contracts are completed. This means that, even if you are actually in possesion of your funds, you won't be able to use them until the end of the order or contract you made. There will be special flags to do this safely for both you and the exchange.
If you win, you can claim your locked funds back + your gains.
If you lose, you won't be able to claim your funds anymore and the exchange will simply broadcast your locked funds to the winners.

To use this system you need to "lock" part or your entire portfolio as a guarantee. The right to trade is equivalent to the amount you want to trade. Those funds, again, will be locked in your own computer, you don't need to transfer them to any pajeet exchange at all.
Example: If you want to trade 1 BTC, you need 2 BTC or GTFO. It's that simple.
