Hi /biz/,
I'm new to this whole CryptoCurrency stuff. I don't know what a lot of the fancy words you guys use mean. I just would like to get involved.
I was thinking of investing in NEO since I can't afford any bitcoins. Any tips or help?
Thanks.
You don't have to buy one whole BTC. You do realize that?

Billionaire George Soros is continuing to bet against the U.S. stock market in the wake of President Donald Trump's election, insisting the economy will crash. His latest wager is $1.8 billion.
http://www.trunews.com/article/despite-heavy-losses-soros-keeps-betting-against-u.s
U.S. regulatory filings show George Soros is still investing in options that will profit him only if the stock market they are linked to declines in value. Soros Fund Management held put options on PowerShares QQQ Trust, SPDR S&P 500 ETF, iShares Russell 2000 ETF as of June 30. Each is an exchange-traded fund that tracks a broad US stock market index. The bet is worth $1.8 billion. Soros stands to profit only if the stock market falls. Michael Vachon, a spokesman for Soros Fund Management, said the company would not comment on the filing.
In January, Soros said "it's impossible to predict" President Donald Trump's actions, but he was nonetheless sure the market would plunge. Soon after the election, Soros lost over $1 billion by taking a short position on the market. While Soros called Trump a "would-be dictator," and predicted uncertainty and a sell-off after his win, the markets have rallied significantly. The S&P500 index is up over 10 percent this year, the Nasdaq is up 18 percent, and Dow Jones is up over 11 percent.
Soros is best known for making a fortune on his short play against the British pound. On Sept. 16, 1992, Soros' $10 billion short position on the pound forced the Bank of England to withdraw Sterling from the European Exchange Rate Mechanism after it was unable to keep the currency above its agreed lower limit in the ERM.
he'll double down on the fake protests now
Fuck soros that piece of shit kys
They should file charges against Soros for market manipulation. He is playing these short positions on the QQQ and SPY and then paying for organized protests (useful idiots) to create political chaos.
OK, what the fuck is this?
- The Bancor Token (BNT) is like any other coin, it is traded on regular exchanges, and it is subject to the same dynamics that every other crypto is.
- A coin deployed using the Bancor Protocol on the other hand, is a Bancor BASED token that lives WITHIN the Bancor ecosystem, and it is subject to completely different exchange mechanics. The lifecycle of these Bancor BASED Tokens is driven by mathematical formulas, functions and an innovative but also rather complex liquidity solution.
-The use cases vary, but it could be kickstarter for future ICO's that not only need to be deployed fast but also must remain liquid.
- By default, the smart contract works with a certain amount of BNT that will be used as liquidity provider, but ERC20 compliant tokens can be added to the contract too.
- When small communities, fundraisers, ICOs, etc. create a Bancor BASED token for their projects, they buy some BNT to initiate the process, thus raising the value of BNT because of simple demand.
- The only coins that are subject to the contract methods are the Bancor BASED tokens, NOT the Bancor Token itself. BNT only acts as a liquidity provider, and like every other crypto being used for that purpose (ETH for example), it will never be destroyed or altered in any shape or form.
- Those who choose to deploy their projects using the Bancor protocol will instantly benefit from the ability to exchange their tokens instantly for any other token that lives within the Bancor ecosystem already using the contract. It is very unlikely that in the future regular coins and Bancor BASED tokens interact with each other, because the Bancor protocol, as I said before, does not interfere with the current dynamic of the crypto market.
- The Bancor Token itself will perform according to the rules, strategies and dynamics of those who want to speculate with them on one hand, or create value using the protocol on the other.
See? It wasn't that difficult after all.

Just buy TME and forget about this.

No thanks.
>>3090045
>BNT only acts as a liquidity provider, and like every other crypto being used for that purpose (ETH for example), it will never be destroyed or altered in any shape or form.
This is incorrect. When you sell BNT to the BNT contract, those coins are destroyed and the price to buy/sell coins from the contract goes down.
When you buy from the Bancor contract, new coins are created and the price to buy/sell from the contract goes up.
What this does is cut out the need for a middleman exchange, the bancor contract replaces the exhange. Now instead of having to find someone else in a market who wants to buy your BNT, you just sell it to the contract and the contract manages the price.
Can we have a thread for absolute /biz/-noobs?
>How do you select your crypto currency?

Due diligence is key. Visit coinmarketcap.com for info. Be aware that this is the wild west of investing and is basically unregulated. My long term picks are iota, omg, xmr, and bnt. Be aware that I own these coins and will shill them any chance I get. Be aware that everyone wants your money and most coins will go to zero
>How do you invest? (tactic etc)
Research technical analysis for proper entries and exits. Plenty of vids on youtube. Check out CryptoNews and TheCryptoSniper. /biz/ will tell you it's a meme, because we like to buy high and sell low, but it's important to get proper entries and not just throw money out the window
>What are the first 3 steps for the beginning?
Wire money to coinbase. Transfer those funds to GDAX. DO NOT trade on coinbase, only use it as your fiat gateway. GDAX is owned by coinbase and has much lower fees. Once you have your coins, you can put them in cold storage or transfer to a crypto-only exchange such as Bittrex.
>How much money did you spend on your investments + how much +%?
Made $15k off iota in a few weeks, $11k investment worth $27k, 144.49% gains

I was called in to my boss' office a week ago and offered a new supervisor position for a rate of 20$ an hour if I accepted it.
I said yes. Now flash forward to today and my boss contacts me again, and tells me I am to start work next week as a new supervisor and the pay will be 17$ an hour.
I ask her what happened to the 20$ an hour and I was literally told the following things.
>you should be thankful you are getting a raise at all
>your attitude is not very grateful
>anyone in your position would be happy
>if you don't like the current arrangement then let me know and I will find someone else
>the 20$ was not finalized, 17$ is what corporate could fit in the budget
>if you continue to make a fuss I can easily replace you
Are companies allowed to pull this kind of shit? I'm actually mad as fuck right now I said yes to one wage and get told I'm getting another later.
Pic unrelated.
Did you sign anything? That's Jewy as fuck on their part. Raise it to a higher level.
Do you have a union?
Do you understand now why unions exist?
So that bosses can't jew you out of your money.
>>3089645
No. She got me there. It was all verbal wit the promise of "emailing me the full details at a late date". But she was so nice about it when she promised the 20$ I didn't even think about getting it written down
You better get in this rocket, its going to leave without you.

This shit is a joke. Of course im on board with bitcoin increasing, but it can go fuck itself as a currency. Will never happen.
Agreed, it's getting out of control.
Thats why I - and many other anons - have been shilling IOTA. We need more coins like IOTA because fees this outrageous will never hit mainstream. Btc is a hedge like gold. Not much more than that.
it's a currency for rich people.
poor plebes can fuck around with DGB or whatever

At block 479808 Bitcoin Cash will have it's first non-emergency difficulty adjustment. This will happen about midday UTC on Saturday 19th August.
Difficulty is going to adjust downward by roughly 60%.
Bitcoin Cash will then have ~5.4% of it's original difficulty.
With it's current hashpower Bitcoin Cash will produce blocks just over every 8 minutes.
At current prices mining Bitcoin Cash will be more profitable than mining Bitcoin.
Could be a big weekend for Bitcoin Cash.
sent ;)

meanwhile it's clear beyond a shadow of a doubt the BTC is being pumped like no tomorrow to keep the profitability up
