Around 15 years ago me and a friend were parked up on a hill in our work van at around midnight in our usual smoke spot. In the distance we see a round light slowly approaching us off in the distance. It keeps getting closer and closer slowly getting larger until it's around the size of a dinner plate and we can see it through the windshield. Suddenly the light gets super bright and shines right at us for several seconds. Then it dims back down and starts shrinking. It was actually whatever it was attached to that was rotating until we see this dark object from the side. It moves slowly from one side of our view from left to right before slowly turning back towards the way it came. Then we hear this loud turbine noise revving up and 3 lights in a triangle pattern light up and it flies off into the distance way faster than it approached us and is out of sight in seconds.

No idea what it was, looked like a space shuttle out of some sci-fi movie. Our only guess was that it was some kind of test aircraft from the military airbase the next city over. Never seen something like it since and no one ever believes us.
