Honestly, memes aside, NATO would steamroll Russia until they decide they can't get NATO to stop. Then they blow the world to shit.

Russia's military is not geared towards the same purpose as the United States. It's mostly for sabre rattling in their back yard and scaring off the small fish. Russia's main way of pressuring Europe and NATO involves proxy wars in smaller, less stable countries with important positioning or natural resources. They can do this because their nuclear deterrent means that the west isn't going to escalate to world war three over a backwater, even if it's going to be inconvenient in the next decade. They don't need as large a military because they realize that large scale conventional warfare died with the bomb.

In the US, however, things are different. The military is swung around like a midget in a mosh pit, seemingly without regard to expense. This is because economy and military power are mostly interchangeable for the US, and reputation is what keeps it rolling. Military action is taken to secure economic interests overseas, and the dollar is strong enough to be used as a weapon in its own right. NATO isn't going to invade Russia flat out. They'll talk a big game to keep up appearances, send in a few troops (or maybe just send guns to people that already want to use them), and try to pressure Russia into deescalating through economic means.

lol you're confusing this tidbit with the trinity test, (first nuke detonation), and they were wrong both times because of the small oxygene percentage in the air.
real reason they cut it in half was because the pilots could not have escaped the blast radius, and even just the 50mt blast likely gave them a high dose of radiation, and the fact that nearby islands/cities would've been damaged by the blast
