the competitive patch was like 4 years too late to make a difference in the game. and they completely gutted demo knight, which was easily countered by anyone with minor pushback. I've never even seen it in 9v9 outside the OCCASIONAL barnblitz match, and even then as a lochnload (which WAS busted and needed the nerf bat) spam spec.

The caber nerf I begrudgingly understand even if I still think a pro team should be good enough to not get med picked by a cheese strat.

But the rest? fuck that. Could've just taken afterburn immunity off the targe and called it good, given pyro more of a purpose.

Just so many of the balance changes I've read keep killing what little interest I didn't even know I had left for the game. From what I've seen none of it's improved item diversity either outside the absolute worst offenders like dead ringer or GRU's. Just reshuffled everything around and made it even more of a shitty 3rd rate Quake with medics than it was before.
