The os runs seamlessly like it always has because Apple controls the hardware.

I'm the pro-Apple anon above and I agree with some points here. They tried to make the embedded Touch ID work but they couldn't make it happen on a large scale in time. To save face they came up with face Id. Yes there was a snafu on stage but I have no doubt if it's actually shit it will be figured out relatively quickly once people have it in hand. I'm hoping for there sake it works as well as they say. If it's less reliable than Touch ID (which isn't perfect in its own right) you're gonna have some pissed off people. Even if it's head and shoulder above android face rec tech it still won't be good enough.

I totally agree with you on being fucked up that they called it iPhone 8 and asking what they are for it. It should have been 7 and 7s and cheaper.
