Season 3's had only 2 decent episodes so far. Rick and Morty's best when you're shitfaced and don't really know what's going on. It's not a bad show but the writers are arrogant, try-hard, pseudo-intellectuals with no sense of reality. But I guess that's what makes Rick a lovable character; he actually is a genius and his arrogance just makes it funnier when he proves people wrong.

They had a hard turn in this season, leaving behind the nowdays mainstream comedy form and focusing more on sarcasm and dark humor. (i dont know what its called in english, its the stuff family guy is famous for, random stuff happens and its so unexpected people find it funny) If you dont find it entertaining anymore thats fine, there are dozens of shows doing what rick and morty did in the first season. Thats why they became popular, thats what gave them publicity. Now that they dont have to appeal to the masses they can make a show they want and only those will watch it who like it. Rick and Morty isn't lol so random, it's playing with audience expectation or parodying the mediums of sitcoms/adult animation. It's post modern. Family Guy is a good example of lol so random humor, it does something wacky for a cheap laugh. Rick and Morty uses it to pull apart certain tropes or themes. It's not clever because muh science or multi-dimensions or whatever, it's clever because it's well written for the most part.
