Run from water, hide from wind. If there is storm surge, you will be flooded very fast, like within minutes. If there is no storm surge, then you will just be trapped with what you got for at most three or four days. You will have no gasoline very quickly. You will not have electricity or water for maybe 2-3 weeks.

Get gas in cans, and put your car in a high story car park so it doesn't flood out. just sitting above water can fuck up a car if its left there for days. after the storm passes, get in your car and drive to where there is supply's and live like a hobo in your own house. don't use fire to cook stuff inside, that's crazy. but when my town flooded out, we did like a street grillout thing to cook up all the raw meat in the neighborhood.

Worst case scenario and you get flooded, tear out as much Sheetrock as you can before the mold sets in. all of it, if its wet, take it out. things do not dry out when the ground is saturated in water. pile that shit up in the front yard or parky lot or whatever, the city will come by and take it eventually. take out anything that is 100% wet. or if your just renting, fuck them, its not your problem. but I'd rather be in a dry apartment with no inner er walls, then out on the street with a bunch of wet stuff.
