Modern Satanism is for the most part just a revolt against the mainstream Abrahamic tree. Founded in 60s counterculture and today still maintained by a similar mindset, for the most part. Some people honestly worship Christian Bad Guy but they are way less common than the secular/atheistic/hipster types.

Serious occultists know better than to worship the ill-defined villain of an already contrived religion. One could argue that there is indeed a true Luciferian underworld that has a had a major presence in elite circles for millennia, but in my opinion these secret societies have been labeled 'Satanic' by uneducated Christians who use the label to describe anything and everything they think is spoopy and evil.

Depends, are you talking about Laveyan Satanism (which is really just a rebranded Pan cult with a lot of dramatic window dressing) or real Temple of Set demonolatry? Because I think that the Goetic forces are powerful, but only in the real of the physical. They are extremely male, all Will and force, and lack the subtle strength of the Anima. I think it's important to understand the Animus, but true power has always belonged to the female nature.

Mostly made up as a marketing gimmick by Alastair Crowley to sell "dark music" during the Edwardian Era. The marketing scheme was rebotted in the 80's as the Satanic Panick of Heavy Metal bands. Protesting it just made it more money. Anton Le Vey cashed in well investing in many Heavy Metal bands of the 70s and 80s. That one KISS concert in 1975 in San Francisco on Halloween night was when Anton coined the term "Knight In Satan's Service" as a big fucking joke. Everyone laughed to the bank except for the screaming Church Ladies. Right now, there is marketing research to create a "Satanic Rapper" but no good following so far.
