Ever since World War II mental illness has been steadily increasing, and part of that is the advancement in studying mental illness and people getting diagnosed, but I think there are segments of society becoming more depressed.

There's people who go to parties, get drunk and have a good time, but there's also other people like us who are isolated from the rest of society. Human beings are naturally social creatures, and when they don't have anyone to interact with that must mess with their mental health. We might have things like movies to watch and video games to play but that's no substitute for having friends. They might be enough to keep us going for short periods of time, but over the long term it might catch up with us. It's just a way to be entertained but it doesn't give us a life worth living.

If Katelyn Nicole Davis had friends who cared about her then they would explain to her why suicide is a mistake. Her so called friends could even have been frenemies who didn't connect with her where by having good friends she probably wouldn't have been unhappy enough to do it.

If someone is suicidal they must likely show signs of being suicidal or atleast talk about it. Her parents should have known and gotten her treatment. Her parents not doing so, and the shitty way The D. M. H. System treats it's patients are more signs of we living in a Pre-Cyber Punk society. I remember seeing a thread after it happened and everyone was insulting her or saying they didn't care where one person even went as far as to say her love of attention was so great that it ended up killing her like Narcissus who drowned in his own reflection.
