Here's the thing kiddo.
Take a country like the Philippines. Everything is sweet. You order a curry, it's made with sweet and sour sauce, they add some syrup to rice, even a tomato sauce is sweet.
Fish, you can get dried fish or fish that cooked in sweet sauce.
Try a filippino pizza, they put syrup on the bread.
The only non sweet dish they have is Adobo, which is meat cooked (boiled) in soy sauce and a lot of vinegar. Which is fun for a while but gets old quite fast.
After 3 weeks, you are done you never eat out again. You either cook stuff at home or go to a KFC/Mexican joint.

The same thing goes for most countries. Thai food is great, but one month in you just want something different.

Sure, there was a study saying sugar rushes didn't exist. A meta-analysis in fact.

All the studies cited depended on trying to reproduce the effects one might see on a child given sugar, in a double-blind test, compared to placebos and alternatives and then measuring the outcomes in various ways.

In this flawed way it reasoned there was no correlation without being in any way real world.

You cannot compare a measured outcome with an A/B test in real circumstances.

When my kid has had a sugary biscuit, in a reading situation, he'll pull books off the shelves, leaf a few pages then move onto the next.

When he has not, he'll sit and focus on a book for 10-15 minutes.

That's an A/B test and a medical study saying "here is your child, can you tell if he has had sweets" adds as many factors by virtue of being a contrived situation, as it removes in an attempt to produce measurable results.

I know lots of kids and parents, my wife works in schools and knows 100s, and like the chap above says, if you're not a parent, you have no idea if a sugar rush is a real thing or not.

I am tired of this case...not of Elisa Lam herself but I am tired of people talking about this tragic and sad case and trying to make something scary and paranormal.

This was a case of a sick and scared young lady who stopped taking her medication and wound up on the roof of a some fleabag hotel and fell into the water tank and eventual drowned and died...

The footage is not scary if you know people who suffer from mental disorders...the delusions were in her head...the roof was accessed through a locked (the roof was so not locked and the alarm probably didn't work) door and she was able to climb into the tanks...lifting the lid probably was easy since it was probably left open or not that heavy to begin with...

Now a PhD holder may or may not be credible. There are plenty of poor scientists who have PhDs.
