Do you really believe you are dumb or below average in intelligence because of the iq test? I personally don't believe much in most of those kinds of tests myself. I've never had one, wouldn't doubt I'd do somewhat poorly if i did. I'm 'bright' but a terrible test taker. I've met several people in my life who claimed to do very well on those tests, & honestly I just never found them to be that intelligent. In some cases, it was almost like their over-confidence gave them major cognitive blind-spots. And from what I've read of your responses, you really don't seem unintelligent at all. children's iq tests are different than adults. You can have vastly different numbers. My brother in law tested at 174 as a kid. He told me that was his iq. I told him he should take the adult test since he can't even add fractions. Now he won't even talk about it. I was never tested, but I'd guess that mine went from very high to average. I learned how to read and write in kindergarten, then in high school I had to take algebra twice.

I was recently tested (age 24) with a score of 150.

Some aspects of it are. Verbal skills are a real kind of intelligence. But someone with extremely high verbal skill would be like Vladimir Nabokov or Shakespeare, i.e. an extremely clever writer, but not necessarily a social butterfly.
