Story:

When I was a kid in elementary school, we lived in a haunted house for a year. Dad moved for work to a new city, and we rented a house for the first year. Some nights it sounded like someone was walking up the stairs to the attic and walking around above me, my room was right next to the door and stairs to the attic. My parents said that old house make noises and not to worry about it

One night, I heard walking around above me and decided to check it out (I was really scared, but decided that it would be better to find out for sure than to stay awake hoping it wasn't something spooky). I checked with roommates, and they had spooky experiences in the house. when you were alone, one of the doors in the hallways would open by itself. one day one of my roommates had family visitng, and we were all watching a movie in the living room. the door in the hallway opened, and a kid ran to the hallways and said 'hi, my name is ___, what's yours?' the parents grabbed the kid and we went to get food to get out of the house, and never talked about it

never really had much spooky shit happen to me irl. one time on /b/, i did find something fucking scary. some person said they were experienced in black magic, and that anyone who posted with numbers ending in 77 would have a life with great fortune and riches. but a person with posting ending in 66 would die a painful death within the next day. a lot of people posted, wouldnt be surprised if a bfag here would've seen the post too, but someone rolled a post ending in "666". people freaked the fuck out, and everyone told the guy: "shit your fucked as hell." didnt check back in on the thread afterwards, maybe someone here knows about it?

as an undergrad in college, I worked as an IT guy at a computer lab on campus. the building had a door to the basement, which had the furnace and the AC and a few rooms used for storage. the door was kept propped open during the day, but I had to close and lock the door before leaving and closing down the lab at the end of the night. a student asked me why I closed and locked the door before leaving, it went to the basement and there were no doors to the outside in the basement. I said 'I have to lock it or evil spirits will get loose.' I said it as a joke, but after that I always double checked to make sure the door was shut and locked

Used to live in 2 bed flat with gf at the time. Door handles rattled, knocking, scratching sounds etc. Nothing major. One night heard moaning from kitchen. Go look. Gf huddled in corner shaking. Said someone grabbed her neck then pushed her. Door handle rattling, banging noises etc start to get worse. Fast forward a week or so. Final week in fflat. Moving due to noises. Already have new place just not moved furniture etc. Have big argument with gf so sleep in other room. Huge crash wakes me up. Super angry assuming gf is breaking shit as she throws stuff when kissed. Storm out, gf also storming out of bedroom to shout at me for throwing shit. Oh fuck. Enter kitchen. All cupboards and drawers open, smashed glasses, plates everywhere. Get dressed, walk to new house at 3am. Pick up shit next day. Never return.

Canters Cave, Ohio. Not sure where exactly it is but it is a freaky place let me tell you. Showers turn on by themselves as well as sinks, there's supposedly the spirit of a witch who gives night terrors there. I can definitely say that part at least is true, and I only learned about it after I had the night terror. On top of that it's owned by this backwards and quiet redneck family that's like something out of Deliverance, the movie where those rednecks attack the four city guys and do all sorts of shit. I know this is all incredibly vague and short but I'm currently waiting for m bus and I'm too busy looking around for other people

Random one: Was 15, get phone call from friend in tears at about midnight. She's in tears, her bf (one of my best friends) had died suddenly from massive heart attack. Fuck. 2 minutes later my mum walks into room, asks me who died. WTF? She tells me that anytime someone who is either in or close to the family dies she wakes up and hears two knocks on the wall by her head. My mum was a bit of an oddball.

The dude broke his leg, and then arm and lost all his muscle mass over the course of 2 years. He probably went crazy, i think he was messing with me.

The scary thing is over 20 Marines have died in those barracks from suicide and murder. They are over 40 years old and have a history. The last marine that died before that was bullied for being gay and hanged himself. No one found his body for over 2 days.

All of the barracks i slept in where creepy and i had weird experiences of what feels like someone hitting me and waking me up or a tight tension on my head jolting me into being awake. All of them had deaths too, suicides where a big thing.

Im a stern non believer in the ocult and religion, however i did have something unexplainable happen to me.

Alright. So these are my friends words, not mine. Im typing to the best of my recollection here.

So, it was probably about freshmen year when this happened to him. He had his best friend next door, and he was there with him for this experience.
He and his friend were in the basememt playing with the board. According to my friend, he was dicking around with the ouja board, asking the ghost "YOU GOT A BIG DICK GHOST?"

Basic retarded freshmen shit. Either way, after about 5 minutes of fucking around, he said that suddenly, he had the literal worst stomach pains of his entire life. He flipped the table and sprinted up the stairs because he thouught he was going to throw up everywhere, in his words. He got outside the house, and intantly felt better.
He went straight back in the basement and set everything back up and asked "WHY DID YOU DO THAT!"

He claims that the ouja started moving after this question, and it spelled out "rude".

Most people I dont believe with this sort of thing, but this friend is not one of the liar types. His stories are true, because like me, my friend takes pride in the legitimacy of these extremely stange, and otherworldy happenings.

Forgot to mention, after the whole ouja experience, my friend took that ghost and the basement very seriously from then on out.

So, my friend call over to it.

Suddenly, it stopped. It stood up, looked directly at him, then started making its way towards him.
It stopped at the feet of the basement stairs, turned, then it started going up.
He was really weired out by this because
A - he thought it was his dad and
B- the door at the top of the stairs is always closed. After the shadow figure went up the stairs, there was no door shut, no handle turn, nothing. Pure silence.

He asked his dad, mom, and sister the next day if that was them, and they all said they slept the entire night, all upstairs.

This friend has also reported hearing scratching and tapping on the walls at night when he used to sleep down there.

Ok I lied, last story, but only because this is the last piece of the puzzle that ties shit together. Im still weirded out to this day of how I sensed "the powerful one"

I had heard my friend talk about how his basement was haunted for years, but no actual stories. He and his other friend just always said "yea, hes got a haunted basement."
I never thought about it till the very first encounter.

One night, me, friend, and his friend (well just call him SA) were in the basement. We discovered a shitload of audio equipment in the storage we had no idea about, so we brought the computers, mics, all the equipment down stairs so we would habe quiet space to work in. This was my first time actually seeing the basement.

Come 1am, SA says its time to head out. He leaves, and goes up the stairs. Ten minutes after he leaves, I cant shake the feeling that theres still a 3rd person in the room.

He asks me what im feeling. (Remember, he has never told me any stories, and ive never even been in the basement before).

So, I begin telling my friend - it feels like there is something FUCKIN tall, BLACK as midnight, and stern, staring directly into my soul, from the corner of the room, on the right side by the door.

His jaw drops to the ground and he is obviously worried. (He doesnt like ghosts or spooky shit)
He begins telling me the stories of the black shadow figures that came out at night when he used to sleep there, and how weird shit always happens in the basement. From then on, we would have occasional investigations down there, and I got better aquainted with the spirits of his basement.
The feeling of when the tall dark one comes out is something out of this world, and you truly can feel its presence. I know how hocus pocus this story sounds, but I swear on my life that these stories are true to the very last detail. You just cant make this kind of shit up.

Be about 7 years old.
Go to grandparents place in a town called Oakaton, SD (Google it. Literal ghost town) but was back in the early 90's just after my grandfather passed away. Was walking from my grandmother's house to the only gas station in a 10 mile radious, early fall when farmers would be out harvesting and shit like that. Anyway, as I get to the gas station/rock shop/post office, I saw something in the reflection of the window on the door. Thought it looked like a team of horses pulling what looked like a harvesting wagon from like, early 1900s or something so I look in the direction that it should have been.... Nothing there... I go in the shop. Grab myself a drink from the cooler (mind you everything in this place is old as fuck) and the old man tells me that he wants the glass bottle back after I'm done drinking the cola. Go outside, drink cola, try to go back inside but door is locked. Car drives by and person yells "hey, get the fuck away from there! It's closed!" So, I walk back to my grandmother's place, ask my grandmother what time the shop will open back up because the old man said he wanted the bottle back. My grandmother, mother, aunts and uncles look at me with all pale faces and my mom says "anon, that shop has been closed for nearly 60 years!"

About 8 years ago me, my mom and little sister moved to another house after my mom/s second divorce. so getting used to a new home takes a bit you know? gotta get a feel for the place.

Mom thought i was just being a puss so she would help me get sorted in my room, like rearrange furniture and get night lights and shit, id give it a try but same result.

i remember it being pretty rainy but that Oregon, hardly anything special, i sleep better to the sound of rain so i thought id have solid sleep, gets to later in the night and im woken up by more sounds outside of my room... my door was already closed and thanks to a night light close to the door i could clearly see the fucking doorknob turn on its own and the door casually open with no one on the other side of the door. Funnily enough i think i remember just saying "alright im done", and just fucking gunned it downstairs telling this shit to my mom.

fuck down in the basement under the back doorway i remember their being some weird rag doll thing in the basement...realized that sounds cliche but no one in the house would touch it, weird thing though is it didnt feel unwelcoming around the back door area where the doll was under now that i think about it...

I love horror movies and spooky things to the point i'm not scared of anything so i watched a Blair Witch project with my friend and decided to go to the forest to see the ruins of what used to be a watch tower at the beggining of the orest we stumbled upon 2 wolves what freaked me out a bit but we went in when we were about 5 minutes from ruins we heard loud women scream so we stopped we had flashlights and we heard something behind us so we turned back and there was a guy just walking in the middle of the forest alone without flashlight he told us to turn of our light and he just passed us. One time i found a body in oher ruins he was about 6-8 montgs dead as police said

Blair Witch Project was good, it reminds me of spooky stuff in spooky places (like visiting an abandoned house that was spooky af when I was a kid, it looked like there had been a bad fire and rumor had it no one inside made it out). blair witch 2 wasn't very good, but the dvd (watched it before netflix) had a bit about the spooky stuff that happened while filming it.
