I mean yeah, I really liked Fallout 4, 100%ed it in ~150 hours, but what made me do that was the gunplay and the pasty combat. The story was dull and the environment was fun to look at at all. The Far Harbor and Nuka - World DLCs had some nice map designs, but they were preeetty small, too.

I was referring to Fallout 3 and Fallout: New Vegas, about the roleplay, though. Atmospheric, interesting and your decisions have major effects on the storyline.

Second that. Tell you, FNV is probably the first game that made me genuenly enjoy waiting in realtime. Got that quest from Boob's home town where night attacks on brahmin have to be investigated, kicked up the radio, repaired a couple guns, boozed up a bit, then just sat on a rock chilling , watching the poor bastards moo aroubd. I've been playing dark souls and apparently I've been doing it wrong.
I started out going up and ringing the bell on top of undead Burg, then I went down with all the creepy skeletons, got lost, and ended up killing pinwheel. After that I went back up undead Burg and then down to blight town and killing Quelaag.
Now I'm going to the New Londo ruins to get back the fire keepers soul

I'd agree with that, the open world mechanics are very good. But the story was just so... meh. I guess I don't like gang shit, I've always seen it as overrated. Pretty much the Beatles of games, very good - but overrated.
