She lived in the rich neighborhood of Minneapolis. Think million dollar plus homes along the lakes just south of downtown. These people have lawyers on lawyers, this is not going to die out.

Minneapolis police in the last year alone have had two major trials that ended with the cops getting off with not guilty verdicts, and just a couple weeks ago, there was video leaked of officers killing a dog for no reason. The climate here is turning very anti-police and this is the backdrop to this event.

Body cameras are required by law because of the major lawsuits in the last year, but the cops did not have them on, which is a violation of law and they can be prosecuted for that in and of itself.

Black Lives Matter is huge here, with the local organizer of that as a major contender for Mayor of Minneapolis in next year's election and she is all over this story too and organizing protest actions against the police department. She is also a lawyer and law professor at a local college.
