BOOOOBB THE BUILDER
Corsair
>>738834649
That's a very good choice
>>738835193
A1 Skyraider. really the first US aircraft dedicated to ground attack, basically A-10's granddad/dad. my dad flew one in nam for a couple years
The caproni flying boat, flew at 100mph, crashed horrifically, and everyone died. Love this thing.
This bad boy right here.
2nd antonov 225
3rd g6
4th f35
5th dc10
>>738835345
i used to love flying that in a sim as a kid
>>738835515
any reason for liking the dc10 over the md11?
>>738835446
reminds me of the super tucanos or texans we have today
>>738835604
yeah, tacano is also dedicated for ground attack but muuuuuch shittier, would never survive in real combat. only real good thing is that tacano is fairly cheap
>>738835805
does the US use them? or is it just brazil
>>738835550
No they are both great looking airplanes. But dc10 more popular. i guess i just saw it more
Avro Vulcan XH558
I went to Woodford to watch the last ever flight of this aircraft. It came swooping in low with the engines howling and the bomb bay doors open, I nearly shit myself. Sounded like something straight from hell, utterly fucking awe-inspiring.
Got back to the car, could barely stand up. I was so emotional at having seen this majestic plane, I was about to faint. That's how fucking great the Vulcan was.
>>738834649
Good choice
Or....
>>738835969
this is british yeah? shit looks cool
777, only cuz i build them

>>738836060
The fuck?
>>738835835
US has some but they are just for training/demonstration so far. 13 countries have them
>>738836010
British, yup. Was the first ever delta wing bomber, a lot of the design was reused for Concorde a few years later. The Vulcan was a bomber that could outmaneuver any fighter of the period, scared the shit out of the Russians for a brief period until nuclear defence changed to ICBMs rather than bombers.
It also held the record for the longest ever bombing run, non-stop from Ascension Island to the Falklands in Operation Black Buck, the most complicated bomber refuelling mission ever conducted. And fuck me, the sound of those engines. This is the exact aircraft I saw ...

>>738836226
kinda sad how UK has no bombers anymore
>>738836226
that thing looks and sounds like death itself
>>738836550
probably because of NATO no? since the US can do it for them right?
>>738836550
We've got no heavy industry any more! My dad built fucking nuclear power stations and oil rigs, now we sell each other insurance and the fucking Chinese build all our infrastructure. But for a brief time in the 1960s we were an industrial powerhouse and a true world power, the third country to develop nuclear weapons after the US and Russia. The Vulcan typified that spirit and I was truly saddened to see the last ever flight. It really served to demonstrate the ever-widening gulf between what we once achieved and the pale shadow of a nation we've become.
>>738835969
Yeah i saw that at farnborough. One of its last flights. Majestic aircraft. And the sound.
>>738836646
they couldnt afford to keep them operational or buy new bombers, so by default the US has to do it.
>>738836550
>Vulcans
>English Electric Lightnings
>Hawker Harriers
Every single one ground-breaking and world beating in its time. We did some good shit back then.
Messerschmitt BF109. How can you guys not acknowledge this piece of superior German engineering?
>>738836338
that's some tricksy flying and no mistake, what height was he at there, about 50 feet?
>>738836759
exactly. though UK is trying harder these days to modernize their military but still they have budget constraints
>>738836891
dont forget the tornado. lulzy that the tornado is superior to the typhoon dispute being much older.
>>738837274
i remember seeing the tornado for the first time. so fucking big and cool
>>738837017
BF somethinng yea?
>>738835969
And then there was the forerunner of the Vulcan (no, really). I saw a Lancaster a few years back, it flew really low over my apartment building for an RAF display at Salford Quays. The entire building shook, I actually thought a plane was coming down outside. Unbelievable sight, another awe-inspiring aircraft. More impressive for me because my dad did his National Service as a Senior Aircraftsman and worked on these planes.
>>738836019
whats your job specifically? i do composite layups for some stuff
>>738834582
>>738837017

no, if you look really close you'll see something behind the Bronco
>>738838720
It was made to transport the Soviet Space Shuttle, the Buran. You all remember the Buran don't you, remember all those great space flights it never made, before it got turned into a fairground ride.
>>738838934
yep
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cz-pOZAGAps
>>738839132
it did make one orbital flight
>>738839132
I mean, it was almost as successful as their TU-144 supersonic airliner. That was an original design too, they didn't copy it from anything.
>>738839202
One unmanned test flight, then the hangar collapsed around it, then the Soviet Union collapsed around the hangar.
>>738839234
Soviets copying designs? Unheard of.
>>738836338
>RETARD RETARD RETARD
>>738839407
But they never got it quite right did they. The TU-144 was a complete disaster from the outset. The cheeky cunts even asked the UK for assistance with the computer controlled engine inlets, UK Gov politely told them to fuck off as that had military applications. So they built their shitty Konkordski and it split in half at the Paris Air Show.

What does the US gain from being part of NATO again?
>>738839919
We get to use all NATO countries as staging points for our armed forces.
>>738839919
it allows the jews to tell us where to send US troops to fight their wars in the middle east
>>738839996
Oh right of course, I forgot about this. I almost thought it was a catastrophic waste of time and resources for us until I was reminded of our duty to (((Greatest Ally)))
>>738840058
Remember that pathetic weak kid who would start a fight then run off and stand next to the biggest kid in the school?
That's how the jew thinks. They can't fight their own wars but they're more than happy to watch the goy die for them. And (((the media))) make sure the US public are fully in favor of us fighting the jew wars.
>>738840282
The public is slowly but surely coming around to the fact that they're a strategic liability.
>>738834649
I like the AVRO RJ100 (aka BAe 146).
The de Haviland Comet was also a beauty
>>738837222
OOOOOEEEEEEOOOOO
>>738840568
>de Haviland Comet
World's first passenger jet airliner, incredibly successful until it developed metal fatigue and disintegrated in mid air a few times.
>>738840825
Yep. Also was quite expensive to run and hard to maintain, as the engines were built into the wings, rather than suspended from pylons for modularity these days. But flew fast and high. I love how they tested it by actually building a water tank and physically simulating the pressurisation cycles by pressurising the water inside and releasing it since there was no computers to simulate that back then. Real engineering.
>>738841107
>Real engineering
Dunno about that, designing the windows with sharp corners was asking for trouble. But then, no one knew about the hazards of metal fatigue in aircraft back then. Still a beautiful looking plane.
>>738835515
My nephew flies this J model. Loves it.
>>738841219
Yes, no one know. And thats what engineering is about. You look into somehing that was never meant to happen. You solve why it happened and improve for the next time. You will never know anything. And engineering and advancements are about the progress and new discoveries rather than just repeating what has always been done.
Had the rc version. Landed it in a tree
>>738841681
The research that was done on the Comet effectively wrote the book on metal fatigue for the aircraft industry. And Boeing learned from it while de Havilland got swallowed up into British Aerospace as the British aviation industry gradually wound down (see earlier post re Avro Vulcan).

The UDSSR developed a supersonic jet with the Brits and French in Coorporation, but then broke up for some stupid reasons and the Concorde and TU 144 came out
None of them copied some stuff from the other
>>738842200
Badass.. I wish, now they only sell the bigger version which is difficult to fly without lots of space
>>738842419
>with the Brits and French in Coorporation
Nope. The USSR obtained some of the Concorde plans through industrial espionage but there was zero cooperation.
Does some kind of ricing exist for planes ?
>>738842531
Probably in China
FRED
Doe anyone know how this style or brand of airplane is called? This is the top view. I think I forgot to draw the wings but the important part is this plane looks really different from a regular Cessna like plane.
>>738843078
It's a private recreational plane.
>>738843078
I think it's a Niggercock 150, sort of like a Cessna, but twice as large and you can't see it at night
>>738843078
The one that came to my mind was the Vampire, NFI what the style is called tho. This one is from De Havilland
XB-70 Valkyrie; six-engine, folding-delta wing bomber prototype that cruised at Mach 3. Only two were built. One was lost in an accident. Program killed off by John Fucking McNamara in favor of cheap ICBM's. The most beautiful flying machine ever built. Majestic. Last one is at the USAF museum in Dayton OH. Saw it as a child. It was almost a religious experience.
>>738839849
Ahh what exactly do you think was copied there?
>>738843078

water landings scare me. canadian pt19 has been my latest interest. saw one in person, beautiful. ive flown a pt26 but that pt19.....love

Fucking Me262 for sure
heard my grandpa telling stories about how these things rushed out of the Nazi underground/mountain airports in the last weeks against the bomb raids
Mustang
CF-105 baby!
As a Canadian pilot, it still makes me furious to this day what the government did to the Arrow program.
>>738844294
I love the ME-262, it's my fav early jet fighter.
>>738844726
If you're going to post a Mustang, it's got to be the 'D' version. C'mon dude.
P38, seen it in flight once.
