Perhaps they just need to pee REALLY FUCKING HARD - that's what I always tell myself. Anyway, if they are tailgating, I am very easy on my brakes. I don't want a new trunk.

I am always doing the limit, but if there is someone who wants to drive even faster, I just let them overtake me when possible. I don't take it personally and I am not trying to stop them. If you want to go over the limit, then do as you wish. I really don't care. Also, if there are guys on motorbikes behind me, I always use the signal to show them to overtake me. They are faster than me anyway and they are always thankful I let them pass me.

There is a certain amount of safe following distance based on speed that I maintain from the car infront of me.

If the person behind me is refusing to maintain a similar safe distance for the given speed, then I'll just have to slow down until we reach a speed at which the distance they are giving me is acceptable for our speed.

So I let off the gas, put on my hazard lights, disable the turbo limiters and let the car coast. If they try to go around, I'll drop a gear (or two) and floor it back up to the original speed. I mean, if there's no car behind me closer than the safe following distance for that speed, I can go back to it :) :)

I'm less concerned by slowish people in the left lane and especially tailgaters than I am by the collective backup of a few slow faggots.

Every time I see medium traffic at 5-10 mph under the speed limit, and am able to steadily gain ground by careful passing, I get to a huge open swath after finally managing to pass the front row. Every fucking time.

They do if you're in the left lane or taking too long to pass someone. It's so easy to move over for 3 seconds to let someone pass you and the car you're trying to pass, and then resume passing again. I've never understood people who think they're in the right for passing a huge line of cars at 10kph over.

I keep a big, big pile of pennies in one of the cubbies accessible from the driver seat. If someone tailgates you when they could pass and they don't back off, roll down your window (or if you have a sunroof/moonroof, open that). Grab a nice handful of pennies with one hand. Make sure to be real flashy with your hand reaching down into the pile so they can see it looking into your car. Then fling the fistful of pennies up into the air as hard as you can. Wait a few seconds, then repeat if they're still tailgating. Get more exaggerated with your digging/throwing arm movements each time.
