>>
Goodbye.
>>
>>738316736
why you wait 2 month?
>>
>>738317069
My birthday is in September. I suppose in some psudeo-philosophical way I'm being "Reborn" Picked an appropriate day.
>>
>>738316736

Whats your definition of 'not civilisation'?
>>
>>738317197
A 10 acre strip of land I purchased.
>>
>>738316736

are you the dude thats moving to montana?
>>
>>738316736
Are you rich?

Wow, nice! You could go to Alaska and live in a bus and starve to death.
Or, you could not do that.
Up to you.
Kisses!
>>
>>738317332
No.
>>
>>738317346
No. Mostly because I have been saving money for years to buy the land in the first place.
>>
>>738317506

Another anon was on last night talking about leaving everything behind and moving to Montana. And he bought 10 acres of land.

Where are you bugging out to?
>>
>>738317603

I don't have a bunch of funds, but I am trying to do similar, enough land to have a homestead and a truck farm.
>>
>>738317603
Exactly 10 acres?. Moving out to western Kentucky. I'm not going to be taking anything.
>>
>>738317735
I'm OP
>>738317691
Not this dude
>>
>>738317735

Well, its what he said, 10 acres.

I am in Northern Nevada and I can get like 2-3 acres, hell, even an acre would do.

Western KY, do you already have a well and septic/cabin, etc..
>>
Watchu gone do, when the Blair Witch come for you?

Oh yeah... record yourself at night
>>
>>738317901
No. I'm going to be living off the land, starting with nothing. I'm probably going to get killed by coyotes in the first year, but we shall see. Ill be posting one last time on September 18th, after that I wont return to civilization.
>>
>>738318062
for how long?
>>
>>738318062
>Western KY

Good luck to you, I wish you well.
>>
>>738318343
Like I said, until I die.
>>
>>738317162
if this is a euphemism for suicide then shit, imma do it in September too!
>>
>>738318062
if you ever get bored or come back for whatever reason, we want pics and stories of it
>>
>>738316736
Moving to the USA?
>>
>>738318668
I have very high doubt I will return. If I do, I'll do that. Take pics of my shelter/injuries or whatever and post them here.
>>
>>738318777
Keked and checked.
>>
>>738318777
I'm already in the USA. Different state though.
>>
>>738318062

Are you going to bring some chickens for eggs a goat or two for milk, a sheep or two for meat, maybe some meat rabbits, even. You are starting awful late in the year if you haven't started your homestead. When winter approaches, you are going to starve if you don't have some provisions put away.

If you do get some meat or game, if you bring an old time barrel with you, you save all the fat, boil it down, pour a layer in the bottom of the barrel, place a layer of meat, pour more fat, and then repeat, it keeps the meat without refrigeration because it keeps the air from spoiling it. When you go to eat it, just scrape most of the fat away and reuse again.
>>
Let me guess no guns? Fucking yuppie be dead in a week...
>>
>>738316736
Why?
>>
>>738319062
I am bringing nothing, my land has nothing on it. I know how to make clothes, rope, tools, shelter and pretty much everything I will need. I also know a lot about wildlife and plants. Ive been studying for this since I was about 11. I may very well die in the first week, luck plays a part. We'll see.
>>
>>738319097
Few reasons. Most important one is that Ive never felt satisfaction in modern life. Having things made by other men keeping me alive, corruption of wealth etc. I want to be a free man connected to the Earth. Another reason is that I have for my entire life felt like this is what I was meant to do.
>>
>>738319349
Understandable
>>
>>738319239
At least record it and pull a Primitive Technology, so when you get bored of your ascetic life, you have some money.
>>
>>738319239

How are you going to pay yearly property taxes on your land?
>>
>>738319073
Why is that? Men for years survived with nothing but the land. I have the advantage, I have access to tons of knowledge from all eras of human history, how they survived etc.
>>
>>738316736
Let us know when you die, fuckman.
>>
>>738319478

Just a thought, but if you did bring some chickens, goats, bees, sheep, etc..

You could sell the excess honey, eggs, wool, make cheese and yogurt and milk and sell this to make enough to pay the property taxes...
>>
>>738319478
I will pay it with my life savings. After I leave civilization, all of my money will be useless except for that.
>>
>>738319503

Those people had "practical knowledge" learned from "others" not from a book, for example.

I have a friend who has 3 degrees and 9 years of college, but couldn't figure out how to build a fire. Also, he has multiple engineering degrees, but again, I explained how to pull his stuck vehicle out without a tree to wrap a winch line around.
>>
>>738316736
When are you leaving behind civilisation
>>
>>738319640

Ok, then you have that covered. Are you going to bring guns to hunt with? Or are you going primitive?
>>
>>738319776
>My birthday is in September. I suppose in some psudeo-philosophical way I'm being "Reborn" Picked an appropriate day.

Not op, it was in the begining of the thread
>>
>>738319733
Yes, except I have practical knowledge. Obviously wildlife and plants is all books. I frequently go camping at my friend's site, I've gotten some practice there. I have built small shelters before, but I'm not experienced in a larger, longer lasting home. It will be hard, sure. But not impossible.
>>
>>738316736
What is your equipment? Especially clothing. You know, going into the wild brings lots of insects(parasites), dangerous animals and just terrain itself. So what did you choose for your boots and clothes?
>>
>>738319894

Its good to hear you have practical knowledge. Are you going to hunt using guns?
>>
>>738319777
Completely primitive. I know how to make stone tools to make weapons, gather materials etc.
Second 777 in this thread.
>>
>>738319992
No, I'll make bows and arrows. Also spears.
>>
>>738319776
Also this
>>738319349
>>
>>738319992

I plan to live on the edge of civilization, with a small truck farm and small livestock. I will have internet so that I can sustain myself with a work from home job, as I don't have the resources saved complely. I don't plan on doing the "hunt for a living" more of "oh, I did bag some game or catch a fish"
>>
>>738319950
I'm going to be bringing thick-clothed clothing, I guess like safari gear with combat boots. Ill switch out to something handmade out of hide when it gets cold,
>>
>>738320266

Anyways, best of luck, anon.
>>
>>738316736
OP, would you shoot/kill someone if they wandered to you or your campsite? Even if they were nice and wanted to help?
>>
>>738320338
Thank you.
>>
>>738320346
No. I'd make them leave, obviously but there would be no point in killing them. I'd be put in prison and there goes my lifelong dream.
>>
>>738316736
cool, i`m leaving in january.
>>
>>738319435
Missed this earlier, sorry about that. Is primitive technology actually living out there? I got my axe design from him, he has some pretty good videos.
>>
>>738320266
you sure safari clothing is better than military clothing? It could be, I don't know
>>
>>738320900
I'm not really sure either. I didnt do too much research on my clothing I bring, as I will be replacing it with clothes I make.
>>
>>738321019
Then you'll die quickly. You'll get malaria, ticks, snake bites, deadly spiders and other shit. Modern human can't survive in the wild without proper clothing anymore, unless it's used to it from birth like those in africa.
>>
>>738321307
Since I was 14, I've been doing hard physical labor. I'm pretty used to extreme heat, although you do have a point. I worked on my uncle's farm for 5 years. Ticks are easy to spot, I am pretty used to finding and removing them. Kentucky doesnt have very many 'deadly' bugs really.
>>
>>738319349
Agreed, modern life is just a bunch of cunts looking out for themselves. You're better off out of it.
>>
>>738317328
how prepared are you?
>>
>>738322591
In terms of me as a person? Very. Read my responses. In terms of what I'm bringing, not at all. Only bringing clothes.
>>
Last question, are you a basement dwelling neckbeard? If not, then good luck.
>>
>>738322719
This. . .frightens me a bit anon. I homesteaded in Alaska for 3 years but it was with a couple of very experienced people.

Going lone wolf and getting started in September is a good way to die a very painful death, though I expect you will walk out to the nearest road when the hunger starts driving you insane.
>>
>>738322878
Yes. I am 800 pounds and I cannot even move my legs at all. Typing this sentence will cause my arms to be sore for weeks.
>>
Would you come back if the situation gets bad or something?
>>
>>738322904
That is quite the assumption you have made. "Wandering out into the nearest road." I'm going to die out there, chances are. I take solace knowing I am going to be in a place where I feel free.
>>
>>738322997
No. As implied in my other response, if everything goes well I will die there.
>>
>>738323077
Godspeed then brother. I know one old-timer that did exactly that when I was living up North. He just stopped giving a fuck completely and fully intended to die, cut all ties with everybody that wanted to continue supporting him etc.

It was a noble death, on his own fucking terms. But I do miss him.
>>
>>738323215
That's what I'm saying. I dont want to die constantly fearing it, working some stupid job and never being happy with my financial situation. I think I can make it for a while, Ive prepared myself in every way I can think of.
>>
>>738323409
perfectly understandable. just make sure you haul in a reasonable cache of food otherwise it will be a very short stay

I only suggest this from a place of respect. Might as well enjoy your spread for a month or two
>>
>>738316736
going to the US?
>>
>>738323863
I'm not going to do that. If I am going to survive, I'm going to earn it. Ive been practicing archery for a few years and I know how to skin animals and collect their meat. Since it is only me, I wont need a terrible amount. Also I know how to spear fish, so I can get food that way too. I have debated bringing food with me but ultimately decided that I shouldn't do it.
>>
>>738316736
so what's your loadout?
>>
>>738324126
Random safari clothes, havent decided yet. Combat boots and my bare hands.
>>
will you have a cell phone, charger, and gas generator, or at least radio to use in case of emergency?
>>
>>738324204
No. In case of emergency I can find some way to stabilize my wound or die.
>>
shelter. do you have tarps, sheets, tent? something to make a camp with? tools to chop wood. do you know how to start a fire? bucket to store water? do you have means of purifying the water or will you just boil it? anything to wash yourself or your clothes? toothpaste? vitamins? seeds? antibiotics? alcohol? band-aids? basic meds (cold, fever, pain, diarrhea). toilet paper replacement? bleach or other detergent?
food storage? do you have grains (maybe a bag of rice) any system in case wild animals like bears or coyotes?

>>
>>738324478
as far as I can tell OP is suicidal
>>
>>738324645
what a loser
>>
>>738324478
Like I have said before, no. Just the clothes on my back. I will be making any tools that I need, as well as clothes. I can use a willow bush to make a brush and the sap to clean my teeth. I can make a mud hut and use clay for buckets and dishes.
>>
mccandless (into the wild) had similar disillusionment when he went. at the end he felt the answer was the reconnect with humanity and share experience/knowledge with people that's why he wanted to go back. unfortunately he ate the wrong stuff, got sick, and died before he could do that. we only know his story because of his journal, and because some journalist researched this a bit and wrote a novel.
>>
>>738324645
"Suicidal" No. I have simply accepted my mortality and want to live my life doing something that I actually want to do.
>>
>>738324785
Well I'm not him. My experience could be completely different.
>>
>>738324785
yeah when I was homesteading up in AK you wouldn't believe how many cautionary tales like Chris there were. The Krackauer book just brought it to everyone's attention but it's actually fairly common.

Depressed person tries to find himself in a wild place and dies a horribly painful death. I'd rather take a bullet to the brain, but everyone is different.
>>
>>738316736
this thread "hurr durr i watched primitive technology once"
>>

wtf is a truck farm

Are you going to grow gay nissans
>>
>>738316736
Just how much antibacterial medicine are you packing
>>
>>738325184
Yes, because every discussion related to the wilderness is related to Primitive Technology.
>>

lol you can't leave civilization because you're civilization, get rekt nigger.

Yes because my grammar will be very important for surviving in the wilderness. Keep trying, maybe one day you'll be funny.
