Snake are shit tier pets.
They do not have any capacity for being actual companions.
With a cat or a dog, you can connect on an emotional level.
The best you can hope for with reptiles is them ignoring oyu.

Nope. Piebald, the name of that particular morph, is a specific gene ball pythons can carry. As will most other morphs, it was a stable genetic mutation that breeders found at some point along the way in their breeding projects. Piebald BP's are perfectly healthy and have no physical or neurological issues.

No. At best they're indifferent to it.
>>
>>738288253
How's the maintenance on them/ overall cost? I was thinking if getting a legged snek but I feel like it would be too expensive.
>>
>>738288253
Im in Texas. We dont have lizards like that. Thats why I asked.
>>
>>738288342
I don't own any pets, actually.
But if i did, the bare minimum would be that they weren't just dead meat incapable of thoughts and emotions.
>>
>>738282842
what they ran out of colored ink or something?
>>
>>738288309
Yeah criticism isn't complaining m8 sorry.
>>
Sometimes I think about buying a kimono dragon and raising it until it becomes so large I can ride it. Toss a little protein powder in its food and get it to lift some weights or something.
>>
>>738288362
Thats sad... Is there any other way to show affection to them or to interact with them other than feeding and posing in music videos?
>>
>>738287461
You're right

I bought a snake because they feel cool in your hands, but it has never once shown any signs of thinking of me as anything other than a giant scary food giving creature
>>
>>738288586
Or you actually retarded?

CB fire skinks are bit hard to find, but they're usually around 100€. setup is bit more expensive, because you need lots of substrate for burrows and lots of decorations and cover to keep them active and interested. trickiest part is the vivarium, because you need damp substrate, but 55-70 percent humidity with good air flow.

Reptiles aren't snuggle bugs. You want a snugglebuddy get a cat or dog or maybe a rabbit or something fluffy.
>>
>>738288671
Yeah, that's my point.
And I'm not judging anyone if they like their pets that way.
But don't trick yourself into thinking that they have the same mental and emotional capacity as cats and dogs.

Yup constructive criticism
>>

Still begs the question: what are you doing here? People have hobbies. You're in a thread about a hobby you don't like. Fish are dumb as hell. People keep fish because it is something to do. Maybe go bother them for a while.
>>
>>738288661
they can, depending on their condition. for example they make clicking sound and open their mouths if they have respiratory infection.
usually when something's wrong, they stop eating and if it continues longer than normal fasting, then there's definitely something wrong and it needs to be taken to the vet

>>738289130
You have your right to make threats, I have my right to comment in them.
Call moot if you don't like it. Also fish people think differently of their animals.
Fish are more home decoration than actual pets.
They don't make the same ridiculous statements about fish than reptile owners do about their pets.

>claims founded only in personal opinion

You're not objective, you're emotional. You cannot offer criticism in such a manner. You should go read a book since you're clearly so dense you'd struggle to understand little more than your own self-serving stupidity.

although some monitor lizards, tortoises and crocodilians have been reported to have atleast as good bonding capacity as cats and dogs, they still generally aren't as smart and said cases are very rare.
what makes reptiles so fascinating to me is because when they do show signs of affection or something, it's really magical and always suprises me
>>

>You're not objective, you're emotional
Nah m8 you're the one upset. Why else would you attack a nice little thread about snek's?

Looks like you're confused as to who I am, but I guess you're also apparently an idiot if you couldn't grasp that.

I made no threats. I'm just curious as to why you're so bent on trying to disillusion people on the internet in a thread about a hobby you don't care about.

objectively, and I just opened this thread, lizards have the brain structure to develop personal relationships. You should learn to google lul

Ah, so you're another retard that seems to be claiming I'm stating things I'm not. Congrats on having no understanding of who you're arguing with. All i did was point out someone was an idiot for trying to stand on the statement of "snakes are shit pets" and you've gone up a flag pole to raise your banner of stupidity. A reptiles intelligence is of no concern of mine, let alone even a point I care to investigate.
>>
>>738290285
I think the truth is more valuable than people feeling good about themselves.
I'd rather seem like a dick if it means people aren't going to perpetuate falsehoods to comfort themselves.
>>
>>738290499
>insults
Calling a spade a spade is not an insult, it's a simple observation. The fact you've gone on this little witch hunt proves the fact you're a fool, but once again I'm simply stating the obvious.

My two gargoyle geckos. Ones fired up and one is fired down. They lighten/darken their colour depending on their environment. The darker one had been in her hide but the lighter one had been resting on some bamboo wood.

>>
>>738287461
Who gives a fuck. Do you think people keep fish, hermit crabs, bugs, finches etc etc based on their companionship qualities? It's just fun and interesting to care for an animal and watch them.

You can even make a bio active environment for them where the soil has microorganism cultures and bugs to break down their waste and fill it full of hides and real plants and just enjoy watching the reptile interact with its environment. You don't even have to handle them anyway as most reptiles tolerate it rather than enjoy it. They don't have the need for social interaction that mammals have.
