I work as a pharmaceutical technician so I've now tried almost every scheduled narcotic. Dilaudid is "ok" relative to other opiates but its oral/nasal bioavailability is low as shit. The only practical way to get a genuine high from it would be to shoot it, but I stay away from that side of the tracks. If you're not shooting the hydromorphone (dilaudid), you'd be much better off getting percs or oxys.

Getting my wisdom teeth pulled in a few months ... doc gave me an oxycodone script three days ago. Each pill is 5mg and i took three of them for my 2nd time ever doing opiates. The first time was years ago and it was okay. This time I felt alright and slumped but i was getting a little uncomfortable with the nausea once in a while. It was never unbearable and i never felt like I was actually going to puke, but I diddnt feel euphoric or, like, good at all. I just felt really numb and content. I also would get little bursts of feeling like REALLY high and the nausea would act up the most then, but it would subside after a few seconds. I was under the impression i would feel like the felt high ever, but it really wasent that great. I have 12 more 5mg pills left and I really have no incentive to take them but rather just sell them off. Im thinking about trying 10mg sometime to see if a lower dose gives me a more comfortable high but im not sure. Is it typical to not feel euphoric or happy your first time on opiates?

That being said, oxymorphone (opana) is "stronger" than dilaudid.

Basically, if you had to pick between the two, you'd be better off going with Dilaudid for oral/nasal ingestion. If you're shooting then oxymorphone would be much more effective.

Honestly, in my opinion, if you didn't find them to be particularly euphoric/fun the first time around then don't bother busting your balls trying to make it fun.

For one, the addiction potential is very real, but I'm not gonna lecture you on that cause it'd be hypocritical as fuck and we're all consenting adults putting whatever we want into our own bodies here.

Now the real reason I say don't bother trying to make it fun is that I also found opiates to be very underwhelming the first time I tried them recreationally.

I had found my old prescription bottle and decided fuck it I'll pop half a dozen or so (can't for the life of me remember the exact dose).

Felt all warm and fuzzy, good mood, infuriatingly-itchy face, some mild nausea towards the end of the experience. Took them recreationally two more times after that, and then I had none left in the bottle. Each time I took them I had a pretty decent time, but I could tell they just weren't for me.

Since then I've tried a majority of prescription opiates as I am a pharmaceutical technician dozens of times. The only time I ever TRULY enjoyed them was when I'd take a bunch of adderall (speedball) along with the opiates. I don't even know why I've bothered taking them over and over again. Mostly just out of boredom and the simple fact that they were easily available to me for free.

Opiates just aren't for some people and that's ok. If anything, that's a blessing considering the brutal addiction that often goes hand-in-hand with a love for opiates.
