Since I grew up in the 80/90s my experience was that we got alot more Sophisticated but at the same time things were still "normal"

Internet was a rare thing, computers were even kinda rare - even in offices sometimes people were still using typewriters and copy machines and alot of paperwork.

TV was getting more sophisticated and that was pretty fun and exciting, the weather channel was almost hypnotic, old people frequently had screen-burn-in from CSPAN and TWC.

But you still flipped through ~50 channels, you still rented and watched video tapes.

Malls were in their *Prime* buddy. Being at the mall was the shit. And the only reason the chimps started showing up at the malls in the '00s was because there were fewer people there due to online ordering.

Compared to the 80s this added sophistication made the 90s a really interesting time to be around. In a word it was simply perfect.

But people were still doing the "same things" that they always did. There were older folks who had nothing to do with tech. Kids could still go out to the playground and play with sticks, go out in the woods and make believe and all that sorta thing.

You could have a house with no TV or internet, just a Radio and maybe a land line phone and probably get by if that was your thing, people might think you were a little slow on the uptake but it was still a thing. Simple pleasures, people talking to each other, boozing and getting fucked.

Based on what I remember about the trendy kids, the patrician lifestyle revolved around Sports and Fashion (clothes). Reinforced by the likes of Adam Sandler, Michael Jordan and Shaq.

I (guess) you could still be trendy now following the same equation but it feels like it'd only get you halfway there.

Without dating sites or social networking you couldn't rely on finding people of Eccentric Interests because there were few ways to get people like that together. That sucked pretty bad.
