I hate that I cannot find a lot of books about the painter Norman Lewis. His works are genius, but because he was a black painter painting in the 50s he was grossly underrepresented in the art world and died in relative obscurity.

They're carved. Only the biggest sculpture I've made and the early polymer pieces were molded and then carved. The small plaster ones were all cast as one big block that I cut down into small blocks and carved out.
