I don't understand why people make these threads. I remember back when I first saw one and I was so confused. I started to lurk further and it just made my stomach turn.

His drawings are ok with me the ugliness of his fluffies helps convey misery when they twist in pain and cuts back on the sympathy when they try to be cute or cry. the way I shade my fluffies is:
1. Make a base layer
2. Make a clipped layer to the base layer, set to multiply
3. Using the same color as the base with 50% opacity, draw small "C"s all over the base, especially where there would be more shadows
4. Make a new clipped layer, set it to overlay
5. Using white as your color, set the opacity to 25% and draw small Cs where the light would be hitting
6. Repeat with more layers of each type until it looks sufficiently shaded/lighted
