mossberg 500 is a great all around gun.
I've heard the finish on Remingtons don't hold up well and that they rust easily.
Blued metal in general is finicky. It's something to think about if you'll be out in the elements with it a bunch and not just babying it to the range and competitions and such type of treatment. The usage environment starts to matter more for things like maintenance.
Mossberg should run well. It's a firearm used for tons of different purposes. Jerry Miculek, the speed shooter, uses a tuned Mossberg 500 for speed competitions and practicing pump gun.
