Just hired a Ducati 899 over the weekend and it's easy as. The fucking thing cruises on bendy country roads at around 170km/h, want to push your luck and you can confidently make 200-250 around corners without shitting your pants
>>
>>734302761
Not as crazy as you think, but they're little. I'm 6'2 and struggle to fit on it. Get super hot in traffic too.

It's definitely not something you should be learning on as your first big bike. If that's what you're asking.
>>
>>734302761
If you already know how to ride, then you just have to be extraordinarily mindful of the acceleration these bikes are capable of, especially when you need to slow down again.
The abilities of this bike will far exceed 90% of the riders, which is fine. - You just have to be aware if you roll on hard there will be a lot more variables you need to think about compared to a regular bike.

PIECE OF SHIT! Had a crf 450x always had to replace the fucking valves, the Speedo was on the back wheel so you racked up twice the amount of miles when going on a trail ride.
Sold the cunt a few months ago now bought myself an xr400r 2003 not looking back.

It's a great fucking bike but I wouldn't recommend ANY sports bike 600cc or above then. Don't do it man, the day you do will be the day you buy yourself and early grave. Gain the experience you need with a bike that won't shoot you past 150 in under 10 seconds and you'll live to see the day when you'll actually really know how to ride a bike like these then.
>>
it says 848 and its a ducati, what more do you need
>>
It's definitely a dream bike.
>>
>>734302111
Do you actually own this bike?
>>
>>734303717
get a life dude. Learn to ride properly.
>>
just get an inline 4 from japan, cheap, will last longer, better aftermarket, and probably faster to boot in most cases.
>>
Italian stuff breaks often, ans is pricey. they look good but thats about it. ducatis are known for being quite uncomfortable.

You'll find that many bikes post 2012 that have speed sensors rather than mechanical linkages are rear wheel, and there are pro's and con's to both.

As for valves, the Honda's are known to need valve adjustments regularly, as in every few thousand km's. It isn't a big deal and is considered basic maintenance - You can simply choose to replace with Steel rather than titanium if you (virtually) never want to adjust them again.

If you don't want what is basically a race bike with long gears and a number plate, than cool, learn from that and buy the XR. Hell at least the XR will take a passenger and some saddlebags if you're into that.

But on second thought you seem to be complaining about having to do basic maintenance on pre 2002 - 2003' bikes, so what do you expect? Yeh, there gonna need valves n shit.
