For as long as he could remember, the only environment that Jinjin ever knew was a small box where he lived happily with his family. They laughed, they hugged, they learned, they loved, and they drank milkies. However, things started to turn grim when, one by one, his family members ended up missing.

One wake time, Jinjin was playing happily when he heard a slight hissing noise, and began to feel woozy. He quickly fell asleep, and when he woke up, his brother was gone. He and his family searched all throughout the small saferoom in hopes of finding him. But when he didn’t turn up, Jinjin and his family cried and had “worstest saddies” for a whole sleep time. With a young group of forgetful foals and a mother too busy with taking care of them to grieve, they slowly but surely moved on, and were happy again in no time.

Still, a few wake times later, it happened again, the hissing and the woozy feeling. When Jinjin came-to, his sister was missing. After another search, he and his family continued to have the worstest saddies. They grew to be relatively happy but very cautious. Jinjin and his brother jumped at anything from their mother coughing to a simple piece of stray kibble tumbling down.

A few more wake times passed and it happened again, but that time to his last brother. And again, they searched, failed to find the foal, and had the worstest saddies. However, Jinjin and his mother never truly recovered from this. There was no more playing, no more laughter, no more dancing, no more loving songs or foals showing off their new talents. Jinjin’s mom kept him hugged closely to her most hours of the day, only able to sing the occasional song about how everything would be alright and how she’d never let him disappear. Jinjin stopped talking almost completely, mostly just making scaredy and hungry peeps like a newborn. Sleep times were spent cuddling not for warmth, but for protection.
