Because losers also tend to be stupid, and virtually all anime is written at a 2nd grade level, with almost all dialogue being expository, 1 dimensional characters, simple "hero quest" plotlines, and bad art that basically spell out character motivations and thats so limited that the only way to differentiate between characters in their hair color.

There is a reason only children, autists and stoners watch anime.

It's true. It's a weird feeling. The latest big thing was "Kimi no Na wa" ("Your name"), it's a box office buster here. Everyone, young and old, men and women, they all love it.

I've also noticed that the general feeling of "cute" just means more like "pleasing to the eye", like visually attractive. It's not just kiddy, small animal kind of cute. Men say things are cute all the time which I sometimes get caught off-guard by.
