I've had american made versions of european cheeses that tasted just fine. Their own cheeses tend to be a bit boring unless you find an imaginative dairy. French cheese is nice, but all of Europe have good and varied cheeses, depending on what you like.

>>
>>733585165
Have you tried mac-n-cheese made with actual cheese though?

>>
>>733584924
This sounds like a semantics argument now.

I get that they do that with "juice" that doesn't contain any actual juice in it, but we're talking about something that contains all of the same ingredients as cheese.. event the culture. I did a little reading on it and it seems the only real issue is that it's not made the way cheese is traditionally made, or has a different ratio of ingredients.

The way you're talking about it makes it sound like it's some completely synthetic garbage. Like the margarine pic from earlier. Terrible comparison. Margarine is made from completely different ingredients than butter, so you can totally say it's not butter. I agree most processed cheese bland though. But so is cottage cheese and that shit's delicious.

Make Mac and Cheese in the oven with mild and sharp cheddar along with something creamier like Jack. You'll never want Velveeta again.
>>
>>733585205
This.

Mac and cheese with real cheese is comfort food for me. It's gotta have that cheesy stickyness to it or it just isn't good. I don't understand "creamy" mac and cheese
>>
>>733585218
Well it is a personal preference I know.
I just want cheese made in the traditional way, since it tastes better and I don't tend to feel like I got screwed when buying it.
Processed cheese products just doesn't have the quality and taste I've come to like.
It's a shortcut food for me, and shortcuts tend to make inferior food.
>>
>>733585165
Yeah I like using real cheese in my Mac and cheese. If you just boil up some macaroni, strain it, then throw in a splash of milk, a bit of butter, some salt, and real cheese of your choice you have a recipe as easy as easy Mac but so much more delicious.

Well the Southern food I've had while over there was really delicious.
I'm also into the red tail ale from California. It actually has a taste to it that you either like or dislike. It's not one of those beers that everyone can drink, because it basically tastes like nothing.
Some good examples of beers like that from my country are Carlsberg and Tuborg. Their original beers made with the old recipe are good, but that isn't the stuff we sell around the world. I actually did a beer tasting for Carlsberg once, where they gave you some movie tickets for product testing their stuff. It was a summer beer, that claimed to have removed that bad bitter aftertaste of the beer, which basically resulted in a beer that didn't taste like beer for more than a millisecond, before tasting like nothing at all.

We have this tradition of hanging up oranges with cloves stuck into them during christmas here. It's basically an effective way of keeping me out of your house.
