I'm not sure about this spinny thing, but I was quite the fingerbox collector when I was a young lad, so I can understand the appeal. Just talking about it again brings back all sorts of great memories. I think I may still have it laying around here somewhere.

Whoa, i haven't thought about f-boxes in forever! I remember asking for one for Christmas one year. My parents couldn't afford the a-yo brand, but my Uncle Gabe, who was a master carpenter, made one from mahogany and teakwood.

To this day, I still consider that the best Christmas ever.

I used to have a really cool finger box that had a sonic theme. It was a knock off but the quality of it was really good. I lost it sometime in 2003 though, could never find it after that

Y'know, I'm not sure about these new e-fingerboxes. Sure, they're pretty, but a 250-year-old teak fingerbox made in England, Germany or Japan will do the job just as well, and has got tons of potential for upgrading. I've got a collection of all sorts, and I must say that one of my favourites is a 170-year-old scrimshandered palm fingerbox from Rehoku which feaures part of a dendroglyph and was crafted by British sailors stuck on the island from HMS Prophetess. It's a gorgeous bit of work and is so beautiful. The overall feel is very good inside too, as it was lined with lambskin and felt. The mechanism is in tip-top condition because even though it's a wooden Heidelburg design the actual wood used is, like the case, palm and thus can be kept beautifully clean and functional with palm oil, which also brings out a lovely dark finish. It's locked with an ivory key (cut from whalebone) engraved with the intials A.E. and in a niche inside the lid is a Gold Sovreign, which I only found when examining the fingerbox just after I bought it - I was looking at the hinge and I noticed a tiny button, and click! Out it came. It's a wonderful piece of work, I had it insured for £17,000 but I think it would make several times that at auction... implying that I'd ever sell such a wonderful object, of course.

This pretty slick. I figure with the way that technology is going, we are going to see many innovations in fingerboxes in the upcoming years. I've been toying with the idea of digitizing of my many boxes with a raspberry pi. The problem of course, would be securing the box from would-be attackers. One cannot be too careful when it comes to matters like this.
>>
>>733145843
Wtf is a fingerbox?
>>
>>733149082
Eh, I don't know about that, anon.

It's like my grandfather used to say, "if the box ain't broken, don't fix it."

If you have boxes just laying around as you say, I'd recommend having them appraised. You may be sitting on a small fortune.

Your comp will make a log of the fact you plugged an external HD in and once they have that info it'll only be a matter of time until the find Hubert Humledink, regardless of how many yellow boxes you put it in.
