Actually there is a way to tell. First off, it's obvious when your eyes become either glazed or red. Sometimes both. Also cops will tell you to look in a certain direction and if your eyelids start flickering, it gives it away. (not noticeable when not deliberately looking for it)

I disagree, i smoked 11 years everyday. I had my bong ready and lit before i got up from bed and smoked through the day till i went to sleep.

I live in what is basically a homeless shelter. Drugs off all kinds are keeping people here unwell. They take drugs and their already limited ability to reason and act as social creatures is diminished. When they drink they become confused, sad angry and mean. Using weed makes them distant, disorganized, unable to take care of themselves or the home. One man burnt his mattress, triggering the smoke alarm and they found a box full of drugs and paraphernalia in his room. He wasn't even home. mental craving also exists with alcohol and isn't very well known so this isn't really an argument to keep weed illegal. But again, making it legal could make people more aware about it (although since not many people know about it for alcohol I doubt it).

Weed's harms are indeed not completely or very well understood. From what we do know the harms are less than those of alcohol or tobacco, but the reason we know so little is because the drug is illegal. So there are two options of fixing it, making it legal for research purposes to study the harms first, or just make it legal as everything we know about it points to it being less harmful than already legal drugs like alcohol and tobacco.

Weed is actually as you say psychologically addictive. You do get cravings for it, but I think you're overestimating the extend. I've smoked for at least 1/2 year daily and was able to stop with only minor cravings where a very small amount of self control was able to keep me away from weed no problem.

This is a real problem, but I believe there are already some types of tests out there which can test for THC in the saliva or something, which would fix this problem. Alcohol is not "better" than weed. Though in most social situations alcohol is more suited, having a smoke with a small group of friends or alone just to relax and unwind can be better than alcohol in those cases. It's more alcohol is stronger here, weed is stronger here situation so neither is "better" than the other.

I'd also like to add that making a drug legal makes it easier to regulate, doesn't put people who only use the drug in jails which is stupid. And kills the black market for the drug.

Also weed doesn't make you aggressive in excess and weed knows no OD related deaths. alcohol knows many. It is also for this reason it is safe to say that weed is most likely less harmful to a person than alcohol.

i think one of the biggest reasons weed should be illegal is because unlike alchohol "which people tend to hide and be rightfully ashamed of" pot smokers are all in your face and trying like hell to get you to smoke with them. when you drink you can't really accidently get others with it, but with weed if you are smoking in public and someone doesn't want to smell that shit you'll end up getting a small contact high.

I think at this point, marijuana should just be legalized nationwide. It's no worse then alcohol. It's been so popularized everywhere that people hardly even view it as a "bad illegal drug" anymore. Alcohol being legal while marijuana isn't is verging on bizarre. Everyone knows what the more destructive substance is in literally every way possible.
