>>

I didn't do anything to mine. Honestly, I don't think its worth doing stuff to it.

That year stang is great. not the fastest, not the slowest, but reliable and pretty fun if you have one of the manual ones. the autos were dog slow feeling.

i had a window go out on me but that was it. everything worked like a champ on that car for me from 2002 to 2008 (second owner).

sticky tires help, the suspension isn't extremely good. i ran middle tier potenza all seasons and they were so much better than the economy tires that came with it.

2011 Acura TSX.

Every anemity you can think of. Heated seats, navigation, power sunroof, 7 speakers (one center subwoofer), duel power seats.

Never had one single problem with this car since new. She gets synthetic oil and premium gas. Drives smooth too and handling is great. Great on gas and has a lot of power for an I-4.

What does /b/ think?

I've had four 4th gen F-Bodies. You can't beat them when it comes to bang for your buck. I've had:

-98 Z28 Auto (intake, cam, stall - sold)
-01 Trans Am Auto (intake, heads, cam, stall, built trans - totaled (not my fault))
-00 SS Manual (stock except suspension/exhaust - sold)
-01 WS6 Manual (intake, cam, exhaust - sold)

I may get another one but I'm leaning towards a Corvette next.

>>732412164

but you did good. thats one of the good ones - for what it is.

The 350 engine it has is so big inside the bay that you have to pull it out for basically any work on it whatsoever hense the cost

>>732413151
As long as we're talking 98-02 or 93-97 with an engine swap... sorry LT1 owners but that engine is undesirable.
>>
>>732413164
I thought Acura was a part of Honda. Would make sense they used the same engine.
>>
>>732413285
I havent had any problems with it so far (1994 81k miles) and it makes my car go vroom vroom pretty fast
>>
>>732413376
It's not bad if you don't plan to make big power with it (over 500hp) and if you keep water off the optispark (which means keeping that leaky water pump from leaking since it's just above the optispark) -- GM had their head in their ass when designing that. Better than a V6 though, I'll give you that.
>>
>>732413353

I think the chassis is different though. chassis makes a huge difference in the way a car drives.

some preliminary searching says the chassis might be the eurospec accord chassis... i'm not sure if the model years line up though or if i'm dead wrong.

i wouldn't assume as much model swapping with honda acura though. other manufacturers yes.. but honda builds a lot of unique chassis.

Engine swap. Power adder. Nitrous. Heads/Cam/Intake/Exhaust. All kinds of options. Not really worth spending the money on a V6 though to be honest. You're better off getting a different platform to start on (LS1's are cheap)

I LOVE IT.

Its really only been expensive because I've been stupid. I grenaded the clutch while street racing.. that meant replacing teh clutch, fly wheel, pressure plate, and bell housing. (2,000)

Then ever since, there has been a bit of a vibration at certain speeds, and i've replaced the transmission trying to fix that. (6,000)

Didn't work, so i replaced parts of teh drive shaft (center shaft bearing and flexjoints) (500)

still doing it. next step is to replace the whole driveshaft (800) or a new differential (3,000)

i owned it for 4 years before this happened though and it was flawless. 4.7 to 60, independent rear suspension and F type suspension setup makes it handle like a fucking monster...

i traded in an s2000 for this and I honestly like it more than the s2000 - and I LOVED that s2000.

>Does this ever matter at all in any situation?

Well.. that's why i said i sort of wish i had bought a tsx or tl type S.

at the end of the day i was looking to replace an s2000 that put huge smiles on my face and i had a REALLY hard time finding a sedan that did the trick. i drove just about everything that had 4 doors. m5, W12 phaeton, mazdaspeed6... and probably 2 dozen others. the g8 gxp had something special to it and put a huge stupid grin on my face.

an m5 would have probably done it if i could have found one with a manual, but i could only find them with the stupid manumatic transmission that ruined almost all the v10 cars. mercedes wasn't making any manuals... audi 7 series weren't manual (or not that i could find)

my options were super limited.

i was also hoping that the car wouldn't depreciate since they only made 900 manual g8 gxps. and it was the last year they made pontiacs... so while i have spent maybe 10k keeping teh car running, i've probably only lost about 2k in depreciation over the last 5 years. thats better depreciation than a tsx...

2011 Honda Jazz EX

Reliable as hell and cheap as shit to run and maintain. Pokey little V-TEC engine which is decent around town, but pretty breathless everywhere else.

More women talk to me about my car now than when I had a flashy 3.2 V6 motor. Probably tryna figure out if I'm gay, I dunno.

The interior is a little better too.

I have thought about it. I could probably sell the 70,000 mile g8 for 28k and with about 10k more get into a brand new SS... They do make them in manual now... they originally said they weren't going to and I think this is the last year they are going to make them...

>>
>>732415494
thanks for the suggestion, but i;m sure they checked the mounts when they replaced the transmission... right? thanks.. i'll have them check this.

the vibration is worse in 5th and 6th gear and that is why we chased the transmission. i was very surprised when the transmission didn't fix it.

its been betting worse for the last 4 months and now it just sort of makes the same vibration between 50 and 60 miles per hour. though it is still worst in 5th gear.

huh.. transmission mounts...

You can thank fiat for that and cutting a ridiculous amount of corners. They are actually in some hot water for that right now. Yeah, its possible. I don't know mopar very well tho. I just deal with LS crap.

Swapping the drivetrain would be easy. Throw in the v8 harness and pcm. That should get you just about there. You'd have to have it tuned for all the changes and VIN. The biggest issue would be if the body control module, those can be a bitch to deal with if shit doesn't sync up.

Save up and just trade up.

Not a lot of mods yet. 16g turbo on 12psi, larger intake manifold elbow, hard pipe intake pipe, HKS BOV, gutted/open stock airbox mod, cat delete, rest is a stock for the most part. Sitting on KYB GR-2's and Tein S-tech springs. I'm going to be adding a Thermal R&D catback exhaust, Walbro 190, as well as the normal less restricting wiring for the fuel pump for a better voltage across the board. After all of that, I'm not sure about the tune just yet. I do have an eprom-able ECU so I could slap a DSMlink in there and get her tuned.

But as she sits right now she stays right next to my buddies bugeyed WRX that has some mods and tuned to 220whp-ish on 14psi.
