I would recommend not to buy too much, since music taste always shifts.
You probably won't quit any genre but you will get interested in other stuff, too.

There are still plenty of modern metal bands that use clean vocals, some of them have been posted in this thread. Also, vocals are not the sum of a metal record's composition, and you can still hear the blueprint bands like Black Sabbath left behind in pretty much every subgenre, especially in doom/sludge/post-metal.
