I remember back in the days, my cousin gave me a xopy of Morrowind and told me it was the best game he played...

So I installed it and started playing. The graphics were nice. I did like one mission, until my objective was to find a pub or something located in the North West of the little town. There was nothing to guide me... It just said North West of town. I searched for hours and didn't find it... It was before the internet was too popular and I was young too, so I couldn't find a walkthrough. Stopped playing.

Fuck, the game universe looked nice with the swamps and weird trees.

I haven't looked into it in a few years tbh, I just know there were tons of texture mods and some general game fixes that were available at the time. I think a lot of people wouldn't appreciate the fact that quests were really hard to find in this game for the most part - you actually had to read dialog and estimate where things were, sometimes it'd be nearly exact, others it was wayyy farr off. But to answer your question, I haven't played it in years - i just miss the free mechanics of the game like how you could levitate and walk anywhere you wanted.

Depends what you like.

More than Skyrim and Oblivion, Morrowind resembles a classic role playing game, i.e. the algorithms that determine what happens when you do something. This means that when you hit someone or shoot someone, or try to cast spells, open locks, etc. you can expect many times to miss or fail. Which can be very frustrating for younger gamers who aren't used to this.

Secondly, you're expected to figure stuff out for yourself. It doesn't hold your hand. Want to know where something or someone is? You won't know until you actually bother to ask npcs.

I missed that, there was literally a spell to temporarily make you any class basically, and if you leveled it up enough, you could nearly permanently remain that way if you wanted - i used to boost magic to the max and make ridiculous city-killing spells, so fun.

Greatest quest design and atmosphere in a videogame ever. I fucking hate that every game has a minimap with waypoints now. I want some pretentious elf to complain about weird noises coming from a cave over the ridge to the west, and make me explore around to find the right cave. Smart, hard, and satisfying. Oblivion and Skyrim felt so boring and on-rails to me.

Entirely depends on what you intend to get from the game, my dude. I can't count how many hours I've spent in it doing all kinds of shit, collecting random objects just because, doing every quest available, etc. As for race/class selection, if you want to maximize the power of your character you need to be counter-intuitive in your custom class setup - mages should have Combat/Stealth primary & secondary skills in order to most efficiently and purposefully level. For an easy ride as a mage: High Elf & Apprentice all the way, I don't recommend Atronach unless you're serious about Alchemy.

I figured out a glitch to make spell effects permanent and I accidentally made my character jump so high that I died every time I did it. So to fix it I tried to give my self permanent slow fall to compensate so eventually I got around by jumping way up into the sky and then falling really slowly down. It was both really annoying and really fun
