Christianity became the largest religion in the world because it was a religion for slaves

The core tenets of christianity is meekness, humility and above all forgiveness. Good traits to have in slaves and thus it was encouraged to grow in the slave societies throughout the roman empire. I think it was Julian who saw the danger in letting christianity grow unchecked, and the role it would have in bringing down roman society but I think by that time it was already too late, the rot had already set in too deep. This is of course echoing what far right extremists are worried that is happening with islam today. History might very well move in cycles, who knows.

Anyways, christianity as we know it is of course a heavily edited version of the christianity that the roman slaves followed. They had to change a lot of the teachings through the various great Councils in order to stipulate what God "actually meant" in the bible, thus rewriting the Good Book to better serve the purposes of the now dominating catholic church. Sure, some people who didn't agree witht he changes were killed off, which is what jesus would have wanted, probably, and then there were other aspects that needed to be incorportaed into the church such as the Tithe and Indulgance letters and all the other ways the new theocratic ruling elite could scam money out of the people.

Muslims who try and leave the religion are often persecuted and killed /executed. This regularly happens in towns and villages where media isn't that apparent so they get away with it.
Now and then videos surface but why should the western countries care? This also happens in Western countries where the dad kills his daughter for liking a white boy but media won't publish as it becomes a 'hateful post '. While some of the original reasoning was wonky (4 directions, therefore 4 testaments) having read some apocrypha from the time period, it is easy to see which writings are gnostic (doesn't fit with the narrative in all the writings) and which are not. They basically removed all the fanfiction and the protestant canon is different from the catholic one so it would depend on your denomination.
I do believe it contains what it needs to make a coherent story though, besides if you believe in the God of the bible you would assume he would make sure his book stays useful.

The parts which are canon match exactly with later editions so there is no proof of the old testament being edited over time. Further adding to that, there is a couple of passages in different books about how many riders and wagoneers being killed in a battle that do not match each other which is attributed to a clerical error waaaaaaaaay back in the day that never has been corrected because you just don't edit that shit.
