The forearm input would still take two arms out of comission, for the most part. One hand would be able to at most hold something level whilst the other hand types. And types one handed. Years of practise have made me good at typing one-handed, but two-handed is still way more efficient. And with smartphones you can somewhat use one-handed. Typing is a bit hard, but simple click to open, drag, whatever works fine.

The only other efficient way I can think of to communicate complex things is visually. Pictures, video/livestream etc

Plus have you considered the likelyhood of the gauntlet getting damaged? It's in prime position to get hit/knocked/spilt on. And wearing anything with long sleeves would become more and more of a pain in the ass.
