Post god tier albums
As per usual, no one under 30 should post in these threads.
>>731528649
Actually, more like 35
>>731527873
>>731529063
more like pure guano
Pic not related
>>731529365
maybe not "god tier" but not bad
There used to be a local punk band who made a really good album. It kinda sucked but they were pretty good. The album cover's on angelfire if anyone wants to see it.
>>731529381
Posting one of their worst album
>>731529141
Music Has The Right To Children is pretty good as well
>>731527873
Just watched them live. I adore that they love what they do, and this album is their capstone so far (for me at least).
OP is nearly right
>>731529321
Since I've listened to some much metal/grimecore stuff in the past I thought this would be kind of a predictable listen, but fuck me if halfway in to Double Monk I wasn't wrong.
They obviously have a foul but weird theme going on, it's pretty good.
>>731527873
one of my favorites by unexpect. some insane Avant-garde metal for you bosses
>>731530103
or, as an alternative
I love how half of these albums is absolute shit and half is actually god tier
>>731530110
Jesus, my typing.
some*
I was wrong*
>>731528298
Gtfo fag. The op said god tier albums not "Should of been Lars" albums homo.
>>731529365
I liked it. It's probably about even with Plastic Beach for me
or Jester Race
>>731529442
My nigga. Criminally underrated
>>731529131
Mah nigga
>>731530186
Then there's
>>731528502
Most of Tool is god-tier. We still gotta wait 10,000 days for that new album...
>>731530373
or even
>>731529649
Eeeeyyyyy!!!
>>731530317
What is the name so I can look it up. I'm taking some interest now...
>>731530499
The Golden Age by Woodkid. The song "Iron" was used in the trailer for Assassin's Creed: Revelations, and I think he's seen a few other uses elsewhere
>>731527873
extremely overrated
animals is infinitely better
>>731530407
A lot of people seem to think Tool transcends some kind of spiritual barrier, but even if you take them just at face-value and don't over-analyse them they're still absolutely fantastic.
I think Aenema would have to be my favourite though. Tracks like Jimmy, Eleven and Stinkfist just make it worth tons of listens.
>>731530110
Bruh, I gotchu
>>731530245
ikr goes form basic bitch to some insanely complex music lol here is another god tier for you bro
>>731530110
I never got around to hearing SW, but their debut EP has been in the CD changer in my car for 5 years now. I think it's commonly referred to as "six songs". You should check it out, it's awesome.
>>731530804
Yeah man, thanks for reminding me! I think a few of the tracks on that EP are also on Ozma, so I'll certainly have heard them.
SW is really good but pretty hit and miss; the hits are great though, I really like Queen, and Revolve is simple but super-fun and groovy to play on guitar.
I like their more experimental stuff. Their duo with TooL for the song Divorced has my vote every time. I don't know if it's just a quirk of the recording process but it's so murky and grimy, with guitar barely distinct but it works so well for the song.
>>731530698
10,000 days is good if you give it a nice and thorough listen. Takes some patience on that one.
>>731530754
Fuck yes dude, I fucking love Smashing Pumpkins
>>731531454
Fuck you stoner witch is perfect 10/10 best album you lowbrow son of a bitch
>>731531633
But what about Houdini?
>>731530683
you are fucking stupid
or never listened to it
>>731531528
Absolutely, honestly Tool's albums are all up in the 9.5's for me so picking one over the other is just ceremony.
I really like Lost Keys -> Rosetta Stoned. Lyrics make me laugh every time, and the drums are on point (as ever).
Hell, I even like Salival. Puscifer are also amazing. I can't thing of anything Tool-related that I don't like (besides some of the fans, maybe).
>>731531918
That's also great, but not as polished
>>731531918
I always feel like Houdini loses its way toward the final quarter. That album could have been 4 tracks shorter and lost nothing for it.
Holy shit, Night Goat though. Never would have thought a band could make constantly playing an open D so good. Lizzy is great too.
One of my all time favorite
>>731532158
True, the drums at the end get kind of montonous. It's really the only track in that album I don't like.
Every song is great.
My all time fav.
>>731532112
I love Les Claypool and think this is a really interesting new direction, but after going back and listening to PatGoD it's crazy how much Claypool-Lennon Delirium just lifted whole-sale from this album.
If I had listened to Astral Domine without knowing who it was by beforehand, I might have had trouble guessing.
Can you faggots post the links instead of the fucking album art?
>>731532989
too fucking hard to google ?
Your nationality has no meaning.
Neither does any symbol, that you decide to wear.
All that matters is your blood - your ancestry - your race.
>>731531938
I wasn't too much of a fan of Puscifer, and I wasn't able to catch the lyrics in those songs. I guess I gotta look them up if I have to. Hooker With a Penis is great, Satan (end of Opiate) is hilarious, and so is Maynard's Dick

there is the two i posted there a little weird but sick once you get use to the strange side of metal \M/
This
>>731533063
The issue is that with such a high volume of replies, noone is going to bother looking up every fucking image posted.. If you want people to check out the album you need to make it stand out and easily accessible. You people are so nearsighted sometimes its ridiculous..
>>731533409
>kys
>>731533015
That's pretty good, but don't you prefer Adviatic Songs?
I feel like they really nailed a great middle-ground between the more experimental Eastern stuff and that signature drone/doom.

>>731533248
>I don't like your music, so that means you're a stupid fag and my edm/hip hop based music taste is far superior to yours.
>inb4 muh insecurity
>I need my mom pl0x, dad why did you leave us?
>>731533359
Those both are average with cringe vocals
>>731533514
i honestly prefer "conference of birds" flight of the eagle is such a sick ass tune.
>>731533546
First I hate nigger bullshit music and all that music I tagged sucks hard and the majority of people would agree. Get some taste and get some culture and then maybe you might get class.
>>731533235
Yeah, Puscifer seems to be a bit of a marmite group. I think they're pretty chill though, great vocals and melodies.
Hooker with a Penis is one of my favourite Tool songs man, that first verse with "And in-between sips of coke/He told me that he thought we were sellin' out!"
Gives me a chuckle every time.
Also Rosetta Stoned is a kind of stream-of-consciousness song about some guy who mixed acid with a bunch of other substances, camped out outside Area 51 and hallucinated an alien abduction. The amount of drug euphemisms/metaphors is fucking staggering, really creative.
>>731533225
Fuck off Varg

He's on /pol/
Pretty awesome album imo

>>731533836
How can you, in the space of two posts, hate on the OG Gorillaz stuff, Igorrr, Kendrick Lamar, and Dream Theater, and then not even mention what your tastes are?
Feels like bait, tbh.

Finally We Are Noone by Múm.
Experimental Icelandic post-rock, its really wonderful. Nice music for 3am bike rides on restless nights.

>>731534011
Nah man sorry I don't, my internet contact is pretty limited to be honest.
Still, I like these threads. They're mostly pretty good discussion for exactly this reason.

YES
>>731534045
I said metal sucks and nigger bullshit sucks.
>b has the same taste as mu
really makes you think..
>>731531095
Interesting artwork
>>731533718
you clearly don't listen to much metal cause thats pretty standard vocals for those sub genres they are in
>>731528298

4/10 at most
>>731528911

My personal favorite album of theirs but not their best
>>731531184

>God Tier
Lemme guess, you're a stoner who rides a skateboard
>>731533409
>Nirvana
no
>>731530165
I like it more than their previous one, this one is, well, darker I believe, and more melancholic
>>731530186
wrong cover
>>731533897
Just a big fan of his ways. He's got some points.
>>731528863
Fuck yeah.
>>731534205
Okay, fair enough. I mean, a lot of facets of rock/metal/prog are pretty ubiquitous in pop-rock too but whatever.
Maybe you can find some common ground, then; I like blues? Howling Wolf; Snooks Eaglin', Hugh Laurie; Lead Belly?
>>731534280
You probably don't listen to much music or have taste in anything at all if you think all singers are equally talented.
>>731527873
>>731534142
Any bands you recommend since I'm a Tool fan? I've heard of A Perfect Circle.
>>731534322
>metallica
>nirvana
>no
>>731531160
If you like Jefferson Airplane, you gotta check out The Great Society, Grace's band before she took off with the airplane (and some might say, sold out)
There are a couple records on Youtube, I like this one the most though. The original take of White Rabbit before it became commercialized is fucking golden, so much more raw and powerful.

>>731534076

>>731530460
Trilogy>Tarkus imo, but Tarkus is SLAAAMMMIN
>>731534352
Didn't he get arrested for shanking his guitarist, or something?
I liked Filosofem, and bought Ways of Yore a little while after assuming black metal was his entire catalogue. Was a little confused a first, but it grew on me.
>>731528298
Fuck metalica and its constipated vocals. Guitar riffs are fine though.
>>731534462
i never said that its just there vocal styles are standard for Avant-garde metal, there a re 100% better vocalists in the genre. here are a couple more that are really good
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bXi-sydxtVQ
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ds5yzEOF3nQ
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eCwZIXymW1I
if you dont like them then you just cant comprehend complex music
>>731534567
Lol you think Metallica and Nirvana are god tier? God speed to you. I bet you vape and brag about it.
>>731533469
>>731534322
Fuck off, idiots. Just because something is popular doesn't automatically make it shit.
Think for your fucking selves, and stop regurgitating shit that you hear someone say once.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_WVNBFcPQBU
>>731534502
ive always loved this album
>>731534935
Avant-garde =/= complex
Like I said, what you seem to be into is pretty average
>>731534731
Not exactly shanked. It was a bit more complicated. The guy wanted to torture and kill him to make a snuff movie.
So ... Varg stabbed him in a skull and then put several more stabs in him post mortem out of pure rage (dopamine levels go sky rocked in such situation). It was 50/50 self defense and a murder.
And yeah, he doesn't do black metal anymore. He's more into these spiritual and religious stuff, which is great as well.
>>731535034
Grow up
>>731527873
Hawkwind - Warrior On The Edge Of Time
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E0ewuky5mQk
Give this album a chance and it will become one of your favorites.
That's a fucking promise.
>>731533063
On my phone it is quite a process to reverse image search, id rather click a link imo
>>731535034
TBH Nirvana is pretty good for what they were. Metallica is just god-awful Walmart rock though.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wKBLIxMWpIM
Eternal Tapestry__Beyond The 4th Door
>>731534562
Honestly a hard recommendation to make; On an instrumental level Tool aren't *that* complex so I'm surprised people haven't tried to soft-copy their style
TesseracT are good;
Tool have some collabs with Melvins
The new Gojira album is pretty good too.
>>731535150
Ouuu. Look at this guy, playing the grow up card and after calling people plebs. How original, I bet the guy your replying too will grow up, cause you know, time moves forward, unlike those shit bands.
>>731535312
Metallica are Black Sabbath imitators and poor ones at that.
>>731534502
This is my good weather album. the moment the weather stops being shitty winter and we get a bit of sun, my mind reminds me to listen to this.
I've listened to it at least 4 or 5 times in the last month.

Could have rounded this out a bit better too; Tool covered a song by the band Peach who have one album called Giving Birth to a Stone, that's great and closer style-wise.
Honestly I've just been listening to tons of Baroness recently, haha.
>>731535036
no way a human posted this
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D2rpWiR1zHM
Spacey, technical, metacognitive music at its finest. Every track besides track 3 is fucking gold, track 8 will literally take you to other worlds while high and listening through headphones.
>>731535979
Yeah, they covered You Lied. It's on Salival.
>>731528917
Long Way Home is much better.
>>731535628
I heard an amateur band, once, who blatantly copied Tool. They sounded really fucking good, to be honest.
But they sounded like they'd blatantly copied Tool. And it didn't work.
Tool are Tool because of the members of the band doing what they do well.
>>731528502
Seeing them live on June 13th!
>>731527873
I was looking at recommendations while checking out some of the bands and Soen came up. They seem good from what I've heard so far.
>>731536439
I agree; it's a pretty simple sound to pull off but even Tool wouldn't be the same if any one member was missing (especially Justin, that guy's bass tone is legendary).
>>731536336
One of the few examples of a cover being better than the original. I like how they slowed it down and gave it more groove.

It's not bad. In fact, I think it's pretty good. But it's just a Tool rip off. No original content at all. And they Obviously don't do it as well because they're not Keenan, Jones, Chancellor and Carey.
>>731537930
I used to be a Field Engineer in the 90s (showing my age, fuck you) and the energy of Offspring and AFI carried me across the fucking country.
