Youngin, idk 6-7 years old, Small Soldiers just came out. Excited as fuck. I want to say it was my birthday, but then again it might have been Christmas or a mixture of the two, but i had them all.

Every Soldier. Every Gorganite. They where mine and their was only one thing left to do.

Fight.

Now, I remember my Soldiers, who said I was on, where tough and had a tank. I dont remember if it was an offical tank, but it was a tank.

And i specifically remember having a vehicle made by the Gorganites.

In my backyard, the following summer, chaos insued. Days after days the battles raged on, my fathers fireworks supplies where tapped into early. M80s and Bottlerockets for everyone. Even threw a cherry bomb at the Gorganites vehicle, blowingit to shit along with that Gizmo looking fuck and the giant rockfist dude.

If by coincidence, or just the shear fact they where the leaders, Major and Archer where the only two I had left. Chip Hazard was missing a foot, he was wounded, near the tree line (Id leave them outside at night to continue fighting, i actually believed they came alive when we werent looking; that was the advertisement campagin) Archer had lost his bow and i didn't see how he possed a threat to the Major, even while wounded, he had his sniper rifle.

I came out the next morning, with the dew on the ground. Perched against a tree where I had left him, Major was fine.

Archer however was gone. I believed Major had killed Archer in the night; or had Archer fled the battle? I didn't know. I just knew the Soldiers had won. Still to this day Major Chip Hazard, who happens to be right beside of me, sits on the shelf in glory.

I eventually found out Archers fate. After exploding $200+ worth of toys in the span of a few days, my dad took it upon himself to scavenge the yard for what might remain of his hard earned money. He found Archer. Ill continue in next post.

My dad didn't know what to do with Archer. My dad was a hardworking man, never had time for fun. We've never also had a relationship.

I grew up and the Major became a memory on the shelf, while Archer joined my dad and his garbage truck crew on the adventures of his life.

Placed in the cab of their truck, he'd see the city, day in and day out. He'd never worry about another soldier. My action figures where the ones that talked and had phrases, the phrases the guys at the garbage company became fond of.

I grew up, and I turned 18, the festival was coming to town and i needed some extra money, so I signed up on the clean up crew.

My dad picked me up from home. We didn't speak in the car, stero-off, i dont think he even looked at me.

We got to the parkinglot where everyone was meeting, i went to get garbage bags out of the cab of his partners truck, and there sat Archer on the dash, wearing cheap necklaces and Mardi Gra beads.

That cheeky bastard lived and thats where I left him.
