I would rather build my own PC that I can willingly upgrade at any time that will run most operating systems than have to deal with the retards at Apple.

So I want to share you my experience with OSes in general.

OS X aka Mac OS:
It's fine. Usable console, sleek interface. Nice tools for development and programming, really love having access to a terminal in that regard. However, the rest of those so called features like iCloud et cetera kinda feel like bloatware the last few years.
In the past some of the best battery lifes (pre 2010) but now meh. No new innovations in the past few years too.

*NIX:
Mostly usefull for servers, embedded systems, iot (well except windows 10 iot core is used in most commercial stuff). If you use this as a normal user... well, have your fun, but I still find the lack of support for business applications and basic things really annoying. When it comes to servers thats totally different.
Huge personalization and modification utilities, definitly changed how we percieved modern OSes, but still not as good as people hype it.

Windows:
Not to say that Windows is the one solution to rule them all, but Windows just works. Used in every business, supports mostly anything these days. Shell/Terminal/PowerShell support still fucking weak, but they at least work on it these days.
So basicly this is the OS for grown ups in business, there is no way around it.
And I actually believe that Microsoft is on the right track the last few years in general, not only with Windows. And even on the Windows side they did a good job on win10, win10 iot core, (most likely windows 10 cloud presented on hopefully 2.5.17)

I've used both, professionally, in tech and design fields, and Macs crashed far more. I did like the OS, but it didn't run most of what I wanted. So I built a good PC, hacked OSX, and ran it. It worked better than most Macs, but ultimately, the OS was not even worth the effort of rebooting.

Is windows shit? Yeah, about 2/3 of the releases are. So I stick with the version that works well until a new version is proven.

Yeah, Linux is great. For servers. And for devices. But it sucks monkey balls for daily use. Maybe we'll end up with a usable Linux OS... someday. Like we've been promised for decades. But probably not. The problem is, Linux OSs are designed by Linux users. And they suck at designing UX/UI for non-engineers.

Macs are good for general media. If you are creating media than even better. Great for art or music.

But Windows is the next step up. There are no gaming macs. Windows gives you customizability. They are for people who intend to make the most of their computers.
