I cant say ive lived on the west coast and grown every strain thats existed because I havent...

What I can say is ive looked after a big site in spain that produced 1 metric tonne every season, we had x3 indica dom's and x3 sativa doms and you could fit 100g of each into the same size bag.

The sativa doms would never accumulate anything beyond 1/3rd the volume extra (maybe we compressed these bags some to get them sealed off.

deps on the phenotype. my mist grew 16ft tall with very long buds. not many people deal with streight up sativa plants, they are very stringy and lanky compared to hybrids. indica traits dominate any mix.
real sativas are very different, and they are rare, reverting to indica traits easily.

thats a fair shout, my buddy grew some mazzar sheriff auto which was over 7ft, I remember getting some pick and mix seed (seed roulette out of the bud) that appeared to flower for over 3 months I had to take it down as was just flowering and flowering without maturing yet was trying to climb out of the tent(over 6ft).

They are stringy and lanky and fluffy and take longer hence I do avoid them but have never really been in the position to grow large outdoor plants (bar the sites ive worked on).

me neither. i grew strictly indo, hydroponic DWC. took me about 8 months to stop murdering innocent little plants, nutes can be a real bitch to get right for each strain, especially when you switch to flowering.
i would wind the sativas around a mesh support, like the ones they use for tomoto plants, in a spiral as it grew, i'd condense a 16-20ft plant to 5' tops. make your mesh like a cone and you retain decent light exposure for the plant. still takes up a lot of space. my ak-47 indica grew to be 8ft tall in 5 months (3 flower), some phenos are just tall. especially with hydro.

i wish i had my pics. i did the day-by day of everything, kept logs and notes for each plant like i was trying to cure the T virus. i had slideshows of each of my babys day-by-day so you could see it grow and flower. all using a nice DSLR on a tripod, beautiful pic. really sad that i lost em. kinda don't regret loosing the pile of evidence though.

I used to start all my plants vegging in 'aeropots' if you dont know what they are educate yourself. During flower id transfer each of these to 50L pots, mainly as they were indica dom's I would keep them nice and low and (2 months min-3months max) flowering.

The aeropots would allow good root development and explosion upon entering flowering. Space was always an issue hence I stick with small christmastreet that happen to be faster and better flowerers and a preferred smoke.

OP you got ripped off because if you live in England you could about triple that for £60/£65 if you asked for quarter ounce from your dealer... it looks like you've asked for a 20 bag and been given two 10bags, but if you plan on smoking a few times a week a quarter ounce at a time is the most economically friendly..

Also what city are you from ? Might be able to point you in the direction of some "safe" dealers

I put my seeds/clones in rockwool blocks inside of something very similar to the aeropot. id set that in the 3gal DWC bucket.
after 2 months the root ball would be wall to wall in the bucket if i didn't burn em with nutes. at harvest the root system was basically a solid. had to top off twice a day because the roots took up so much room.
i tried ebb & flow, sprinkler/drip tubes, nothing worked as well as DWC because you can tune your nutes for each plant, no shared res. my ak47 would consume enough nutes during flower to insta-fry 10 normal plants, for instance.
DWC is a cheap as fuck setup, also.

all my growing was for the most part done in a walk-in closet, veg tent - 8 plants 2 months, 4x8' footprint, 4' tall.
flower plant was 3x8 with 1-2kw HPS depending on my power bill/finances (i was a broke nigga). 6 in flower for 3 months give or take.
every 2 weeks i harvested one and selected one from my clone/seed sprout lineup to grow. got bout 2-6 oz depending on the plant/strain, also lots of eddibles and bubble hash from the stems/leaves soaked in trichomes.
probably maintained about 20 sprouts on a shelv in the veg tent, selected the healthiest of them and purged the weaklings. man i really had that system locked down near the end. just got too paranoid to continue though.
in the end i had a seed collection, mostly baught from the EU - verified breeders, easily topping 1000 seeds and hundreds of strains. gave it to a buddy of mine, hope they see dirt one day.

seriously the most enjoyable activity/hobble i have ever had. really sucks that it's not leagal.
