I remember having to read a book in highschool. Speak by Laurie Halse Anderson.
It was about some girl who got raped by a chad and become mentally unstable to the point she promised never to speak again. Book didn't say what happened to her or why she stopped talking, but it was damn good book because of how it told the story.

Thirteen reasons does not tell a good story. Both of these have a slightly over the top stories, but one of them tells them in a entertaining and thought out way.

That's the difference between a good story with characters that do dumb things for no particular reason, and a shitty story that has characters doing shitty things for no reason.

it wasn't awful, i watched it in a weekend, kept me entertained enough.
