In this case especially, that's a good idea. It always is, but with horror games in particular going in blind is kind of a necessity.

>Do you ever see yourself in a relationship?
I'm currently in a long distance relationship. But I find it hard to picture myself in a physical relationship. I have a lot of quirks.
>Do you think depressive schizos such as yourself could ever maintain one?
It's possible, as long as the other person is aware of the situation both parties are willing to make the necessary steps to make it work.
>Or would be it be to mentally costly to outweigh benefits?
I think for the most part it would be beneficial. There will be times when the stress will get them and they'll feel like it's not worth it to keep pursuing the relationship, or that they're a hindrance on their partner for being this way.

That's a more elaborate reply than I anticipated, thx. I'm in the same boat, in an LDR, but with a schizophrenic with a depressive disorder rather than being her.

When she's well, it's great, but she's had schizophrenic episodes on a weekly basis the past few months lasting for days and it's really getting draining. When we met, the goal was to ultimately live together, but i just don't see it happening anymore, not with her health not improving at all regardless of what we try.

Are you ever planning to live together with your partner? I guess not, you probably have the same fucked up biorhythm, the anhedonia and the apathy mine does.

You're welcome
That's basically the same situation I'm in. She is bipolar and has PTSD, likely Schizophrenic as well.
So she's going through her episodes right now as well, and we don't get to talk often.
>Are you ever planning to live together with your partner?
We planned to, but it's all up in the air right now.
>I guess not, you probably have the same fucked up biorhythm,
my biorhythm is a total mess, I can't hold a solid sleep schedule for more than a week, and I lose track of days, sometimes even weeks.
>the anhedonia and the apathy mine does.
Recently more so than it was when she and I first met. When she goes through her episodes it brings up the worst of mine as well.

I think it's good to align yourself with some sort of belief system. but it should remain that, a belief system. I dislike when people try to say "my belief system is fact" or try to use their "god" for some sort of moral high ground.
>What is your personal belief?
I identify as Pantheist, which is the belief that the universe and everything it encompasses is "god" I don't believe in any sort of personal god.

Gonna address the elephant in the room here (proverbial one ofc): did you ever hold down a job or work a day?

Do employers give you the typical "you're welcome [back] once you get that shit sorted"? Do you ever think you'll be able to hold a job?

You're goals are shit and you don't have a routine. Have you considered methods of treatment such as long distance running, schedualing and diet? Also have you every tried psychedelics? Does it run in your family?
>>
>>730462842
>long distance running
schizOP, this is a good idea. i used to run cross country and it really is a great time. i don't imagine it would serve as treatment, but getting fit is always good.
>>
>>730462721
It... can get bad quickly, don't get me wrong. At night, its just me I run the whole thing, so if like 4-5 people just show up... well... it just sucks, but we stay full 90% of the time. This is the best psychiatric hospital I've ever seen that isn't a resort for the super rich. So at night I usually get done with scheduled work and play vidya until something happens... not the most fulfilling thing I've ever done... I'd like to go back to doing real therapy...but it pays the bills and I seem to have a knack for it. ....anything you do right now your finding some fulfillment in? (I haven't tagged these new satori pics yet...)

I'm aware of this.
>Have you considered methods of treatment such as long distance running
I have considered it, and tried it a few times in the past. I always wind up giving up after like a week when I lose interest.

>Also have you every tried psychedelics?
No, but it's something I want to do.

>Does it run in your family?
Unfortunately.

It's way too hot here most of the time. I can't bare the heat.
>>730463054

I would imagine. working in any sort of hospital has that chance.
>anything you do right now your finding some fulfillment in?
Not really. I mostly just do whatever so the time passes faster. I can't seem to find that thing that will give me some fulfillment.
>>
>>730463725
believe it or not.. that's okay, some people take time to find something that fits the bill. I have confidence you will... have you tried doing things to help others in some way? Obviously that's my thing, but it's oft overlooked.. I have my own struggles and helping others has always been rewarding, but you could also learn to find fulfillment in things you don't naturally... Its a perspective thing.

Attacks of extreme paranoia and anxiety, I have the occasional auditory and visual hallucinations, which includes hearing voices and seeing figures. If I get too overwhelmed by the paranoia and anxiety I become very catatonic.

>believe it or not.. that's okay,
That's what I keep telling myself.
>I have confidence you will.
Thanks, I really hope one day I will.
>have you tried doing things to help others in some way?
I have, it always makes me feel better to help people. But recently I haven't had the desire to be in society at all so I don't really get that opportunity. That's partly why I make these threads, I know a lot of anons on /b/ struggle with mental health, and it helps to be able to talk to someone you can relate to.

>Its a perspective thing.
Heh, that's usually my line.
If I could keep the desire to do things I'm sure I would find fulfullment, but that's where I struggle.
>>730463999
Yup, in FL. It gets hellish here in the rainy season (now). Hot and humid all day
>>
>>730464741
i would have thought that rain would actually be nice, but then the rain is fucking warm. and then it's just even more humid afterwards. horrible cycle.

That's a huge motivating factor for my participation in Alice's + shrine threads. If ever you wanted, you could join us sometime. Lot of people show up to shrine seeking help and we all do our best! and, there's lots of ways to help people w/o going to much into public.... it doesn't just have to be one thing either, even a whole bunch of small things you can do add up to a better world. Maybe ... even advocacy for better mental health care or improved standards for those who don't have quite the coping you have. I love my job, but it breaks my heart sometimes to see people admitted for things that could have been prevented..

>i would have thought that rain would actually be nice
It's nice for like 20 minutes before it rains, then when it rains it's nice. But it rains for like an hour which is just enough for it to be humid the rest of the day and the next day. Which makes it more likely to rain.. and so forth it is a very annoying cycle.
>>730465024
>That's a huge motivating factor for my participation in Alice's + shrine threads
I told you yesterday we have the same aura, right?
>If ever you wanted, you could join us sometime
I contemplated that yesterday after you came by. I may drop by when my sleeping schedule inevitably fits when they're up.

>Maybe ... even advocacy for better mental health care or improved standards
That's originally what I wanted to do with my life. I wanted to study psychology and try to change the system, in any way I could. But after the depression hit me, I just can't find that drive anymore.
>I love my job, but it breaks my heart sometimes to see people admitted for things that could have been prevented.
I can only imagine.

It's not too late for that... it really never is I promise. Back to the perspectives thing... don't get too caught up in how "bad" it is for your motivation to wane & wax... whats more important is that you use it when you have it and understand it's part of you when you don't. Sometimes big change starts small. We do them MWF and I'm nearly always there. Alice does her threads everyday, but they can be much more chaotic and become toxic w/ trolls pretty quick. It can get pretty crazy, it can start pouring rain with no prior warning, and then stop again in 10 minutes.

Do you do these kinds of threads often?

It's really weird how many things you share with my schizo. There's a huge desire to please [fuelled by an anxiety to displease], the anhedonia, the catatonic state, the love/hate relationship with being around people AND the penchant for rain and enjoying being in rain. Very weird.

Do you ever think it'd be possible to move countries or have like, these huge ambitions? My gf wants to emigrate and go live in Japan for example and I just don't see it happening anymore tbqh.

It just seems to me that with schizophrenia, you have to take every day as they come. And I don't think the average person can successfully make plans over a long term under those circumstances, let alone people that lose control and/or touch with reality on a weekly-monthly basis.
