Not OP, but when you're in the gym you don't need a lot of rest time between sets. Basically enough time to add or take off weight. I almost never spend more than an hour in the gym unless it is completely packed. I know guys that are absolutely huge and very cut that never touch a treadmill or bike.

Okay, OP and /b/tards, I would like to learn how to fight. Obviously the best way to do this is to spar in combination with lessons, but I really can't spar due to medical reasons: I absolutely cannot get a concussion.

As long as you do 20 minutes of sustained exercise that keeps your heart rate pumping. You should be fine. Don't do 40 minutes, that's way too much, to be honest. Just go hard, get an ardent workout.

For planche, get two chairs that and face them parallel. Then get yourself into the planche position, and use one leg to lever yourself. Now you can gauge how much resistance you want to use when doing planche.
