Ideas and random thoughts: People in care homes are usually old, so bad eye sight, short attention spans and other forms of communication like speech maybe a problem due to hearing problems.

But a picture can equal a thousand words, old folks that don't speak English, English 2nd language, or can't speak at all or have difficulty speaking can easily understand things because of just a simple picture.

I know what it's like to struggle with low productivity levels, it's basically me all the time unless I'm stressed by a deadline date. However I found a good method that works for me. Not sure if you heard but there's a technique called pomodoro or pomodoro timer. It helps with productivity because you run the main timer for 25 minutes which passes quickly enough so you don't backtrack, but then you take a short 5 minute break to refresh your mind. After 4 main 'pomodoros' you will have done 100 minutes of productivity and only 15 minutes break so you can now take a long break as a reward. If it sounds useful maybe you should give it a shot. I found I'm only unproductive when I postpone but when I actually organise or do something towards my goal I stay motivated. I do get distracted quite a while but the short breaks are very comfy.

But you could also say another con as to if the visual aid is not clear, concise, and easy to understand there could be possible misunderstandings from just a picture etc. As we all come from different backgrounds, customs, religions, and have different experiences. You could also expand on people who have serious illnesses, bed ridden or dementia would have a harder time than others.

I have heard of similar things, apps and have also tried schedules/routines. Didn't work so well. To be honest it's probably depression, which I will need to seek mental help for in the future. But all that aside, Pomodoros sounds like a interesting idea. I will try it out when studying for my summer course. I really need to pass my summer course. I will save and write it down.
