I binge watched 13 reasons why today so you don't have to. It's filled with shitty teenager drama and bullshit but it carries a very strong message with it.
Suicide is incredibly tough on people around it. It can ruin lives if you somehow twist it in a way which serves as revenge, but it also always reminds the people who interacted with you that they didn't help when they could've. Everyone takes a small hint to it.

If you feel alone or even despised, you should look at your past social interactions and think to yourself if it's really worth it. Do they deserve it? Those who ignore you? Those who love you? Those who you think mean nothing to you, even though it will definitely have an impact on their lives?

It's pretty selfish because it's the ultimate action you can take. It attempts to either grasp for temporary attention or permanent relief from something that you can get away from without taking your own life.
