It takes a long time, just be prepared for that. It's not like seeing a regular doctor, you don't go in and say "this is how I feel" and they just give you meds or anything like that. It can take months.
Avoid General Physicians at all costs, unless it's exclusively to get a recommendation for a psychologist.

OP how do you deal with your depression? Ive had depression for about 5 yrs and until 3 months ago i never had suicidal thoughts now i get them daily. I always hear a voice in my head telling me to just end it. That no one would miss me or blame me for doing it... Its fucking terrifying to be alone with my thoughts

Reading this thread just confirms my suspicions that I had of being a schizo or on the road to becoming one, and being around the age it said it really started to hit you is also scary. Thanks OP.
