Yeah, there are revolvers that fire .410 shells, but those are pretty much useless. Especially against bears. A rifle, 12-gauge shotgun or a large caliber revolver is the way to go.

I used to battle with this a lot tbqh. When you're depressed and think time to go, the logistics can slow you down a bit. But sometimes deep in the woods with a gun about 30% more powerful than a 44 magnum and Id think, could end this now and not feel a thing.

That said, having or not having a gun isn't what's keeping you from killing yourself. I'm not religious, don't care for family or friends, and get ass when I can. Yeah, I have a 454 with a 2in barrel, and it actually kicks worse than a 460 or 500. In this package (ruger alaskan), 454, super hot 45 colt and 480 Ruger feels like someone smashed your hand with a wood baseball bat. 44 might be the sweet spot, but I like the compactness of this package for bear, and the 44 would need a lot longer barrel to generate the same powerfactor as my 2in.

I put about 250 full house 454 rounds through this one mostly Hornady, Federal, and unreliable as fuck Corbon hunter. If it weren't for the California thing I would sell this instantly. In this platform there is no reason to have a snubbie, but when concealing on trails etc a normal barrel would print horribly. The bullets are $1.50 a round on avg, and shooting it is physically painful after a cylinder or 2 max.

At the range people are like wow cool! But in reality if I could protect myself from bears with a .357 I would. Hoping I don't get nerve damage in a few decades :)

was pretty brutal. Not only did it wreck my wrist, but it also felt like I got punched square on the fucking nose. Probably because of the compensator.
